Pre-Order Sea Of Thieves Board Game From Steamforged
May 9, 2023 by brennon
Steamforged Games are taking pre-orders for their newest licensed board game, Sea Of Thieves: Voyage Of Legends. Dive into a new piratical adventure on the tabletop and get stuck into some competitive pirating. I wouldn't expect anything other than competition when it comes to pirates.

Voyage Of Legends will see two-to-four different pirates taking to the tabletop and looking to complete voyages, defeat nefarious foes and gather treasure. All of this builds on your reputation and allows you to upgrade your ship from a little ol' sloop to a deadly galleon.

You can also go and visit the Outpost and hire a new crew, make repairs and sell the treasure that you've managed to snaffle up on your adventures. Much like with Sea Of Thieves on console and PC, there is no one route to victory and you are able to go down a lot of different avenues to seek victory.

Whilst you'll find yourself dealing with your fellow pirates as you venture out onto the ocean, you will also need to deal with monstrous beasts like the Kraken and the Megalon. They are certainly ticking off all the "must haves" for Sea Of Thieves fans.
As someone who really enjoyed the pirate board game, Merchants & Marauders, this seems like it would be right up my alley. I like the idea that you can explore the map freeform and work down a variety of different routes towards achieving victory. Having that open world field is key to matching the Sea Of Thieves experience but it should also make for a fun time at the tabletop as long as each of those routes has its own fun mechanics tied to it. Voyage Of Legends also comes in at the ninety to 120-minute mark which means it shouldn't outstay its welcome either.
Watch out for this board game dropping later this Summer!

This looks really fun
I wonder if you can use the hexagons in mighty empires or are they a different size.
