I don’t have much shelf space, so I set them out for a few days before putting them in a box.

And that’s the Spring cleaning bit done, there’s no more old Guard models in the bits box or carry cases. But I would like to find a nice Leman Russ type tank to print, as I enjoyed painting the vehicles.

Then I went back to some old school models with the ratling snipers, but after painting up an old Yarrick, I found a cool “not Yarrick – Yarrick” and printed him off, so he’s what i’m working on now…

I always wanted a Chimera, but could never afford one as a kid and when i came to presents I always asked for more models.

But now I have a printer!

So i bought a cool chimera like carrier and got to it

I also found a cool free walker on cults…

But only after printing it did I realise it’s a copy of the new GW one… and i’m not a big fan of IP theft, so i’ll not be printing anymore of that file. I stuck the gun in a different place to make it look different… and better?

I’d never painted vehicles before this… and hell! I really enjoyed it

Someone said Yarrick was dead…?

I had one single Ogryn that I seem to remember thinking I could use as Nork Deddog or whatever the bodyguard was called.

Been watching videos of people doing that slapchop painting method and quite liked the texture it created for some clothing (not skin).

I decided to make my metal Ogryn a “Metal Ogryn” as slapchop and blue should give me an 80s/90s denim look… and this fella has metal patches all over him…

I used to work in a GW store back in the day and got a couple of the Xmas models they gave to staff… one was a slayer jumping at a stone troll. I have the stone troll painted somewhere, and I threw out the dwarf after a failed conversion… but I still had his hair!

Metal Ogryn… battle jacket… punk hairdo… yes please

Some AK interactive rust, as he has a lot of skin on show

I intend to go back and do tiny band logos on the patches

‘ave it!

I has a second batch in the detol

Reinforcments incoming

Scrubing and rebasing some of them and it was time to get some more jungle fighters going…

Then some rust and onto the bases…

As these models predate the weapons teams on round bases I had to look up sizes and get the 3d printer going

Catachans

These fellas are some of my favourite old school models… a million times better than the plastics that replaced them

Becasue they have a lot of skin rather than armour or clothing i decided to use AK interactive’s rust instead of straking grime, to give them a warmer tint.

Highlighting to come later after I get through them all

I wanted to get a simple and quick method together for the ice warriors. Uniform in clothing with a bit of variation in skin tones.

Airbrush grey with a white zenithal then bone for the greatcoats (as I went with streaking grime for an all over tint).

White spirits and sponges…

I dug out my old metal guard models… Catachans, Valhallan and ratlings. An old Yarrick and an ogre.

I never had enough for an army as a kid but loved the range.

Soaked in Detol for a few days and it’s time to get going…
