MiG Alley & More Return For Warlord Games’ Blood Red Skies
April 13, 2023 by brennon
Warlord Games has been chatting away about some new releases coming up for Blood Red Skies. Whilst there will still be a focus on World War II, we'll also be heading back to the Korean War with a revamped set for MiG Alley.
MiG Alley // Blood Red Skies
MiG Alley is going to be getting a relaunched boxed set which features some jet-based action between the MiG 15 and the F86 Sabres. The new miniatures will come in Warlord Resin Plus and you will also get two Ace Pilots for each side, both the Koreans and the US.
MiG Alley - Contents // Blood Red Skies
On the US side, you have James "Jabby" Jabara and John F. Bolt from the US Marine Corps. They can go up against Gan Gyong-Duk and Zhao Baotong who was described as the "King Of Air Combat" by Mao Zedong. If you're seeking to blast through the skies of Asia and engage in some high-octane battles between jet fighters, this looks like the set to dive into.
It should be noted that additional resources are going to be made available as part of the Wing Commander supplement. This will offer up a bunch of resources for Blood Red Skies created by the likes of the Ready Room and then curated by Andy Chambers, the designer of the game.
There will be advice for designing your own scenarios, playing campaigns and additional profiles for a host of aircraft from World War II and beyond including the Korean War. This is where MiG Alley gets expanded with a focus on the Indian subcontinent and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Wing Commander seems like a great supplement for those that enjoy their air-based combat.
New Blood Red Skies Bombers
As well as diving into the Korean War, there are also going to be some new miniature releases for World War II and those who like Bombers!
B-26B Marauder Squadron // Blood Red Skies
There are some new options here for those wanting to build on their American airforce and the might of the Luftwaffe. On the US side, you have the B-26B Marauders which were sleek and modern Bombers that were able to deliver quite the one-two punch to the Axis forces on the ground.
Heinkel He 111H Squadron // Blood Red Skies
On the other side, we have the Heinkel He 111H which was pretty much a mainstay of the Luftwaffe throughout the war. The set also comes with decals allowing you to use these German bombers as Kampfgeschwader 55 during the Battle Of Britain.
Are you going to be diving in and picking up some of these new releases for Blood Red Skies?

Will pick up Wing Commander, the previous supplement Air Strike was good.
Rereleasing aircraft in the new resin is long overdue. The quality in the past has been average and the prices too high. The metal aircraft were good, but not great for the game has they required the large bases and were exceedingly fragile on them. Really the whole release schedule for Red Skies should have been thought about better.
Green tracers from the MiG and the limited gray from the image just made me think Star Wars trench run. I’m sure somebody has slipped in TIE fighters at the thought by now. ?
Good looking plane’s for gaming with.
Got plenty of warlord points saved up I’m hoping to drop on Wing Commander. I’ll get the new resin box set as well, not been too impressed with some of the warlord resin so far though.
Depending on price then these look good.
I like BRS, but why only four planes in the Mig Alley set (two of each)? Battle of Midway box set had twelve. Am I missing something?
