New Rangers Of Shadow Deep Heroes & Shields From North Star
April 5, 2023 by brennon
North Star Military Figures recently released some new heroes and accessories for use in McCullough's story-based skirmish wargame, Rangers Of Shadow Deep. Leading the way are two new hero miniatures that can be used to represent Rangers or Companions in-game.
Ranger With Two-Handed Sword // Rangers Of Shadow Deep
The first miniature is this Ranger With Two-Handed Sword. I could see this representing a more youthful and androgynous Ranger, both male and female, but you could also go with this fellow being an Elf for an entirely different game. For example, this would be a brilliant Champion for an Elven army in Oathmark.
The second miniature is hooded and cloaked, diving into the fighting with a fiercely hefty sword that looks more like a cleaver than anything else.

Again, I'm getting vibes of a younger Ranger with this particular sculpt. Again, because of the long hair hanging down from under the hood, you could also use this as an Elf in your games of Oathmark and beyond.
You will also notice that the miniature comes with a nifty shield bearing the Star Of Aladore. Well, there is a whole pack of those shields for you to use on you Rangers and Companions.

I also like that you could now make the kingdom of Aladore more than just its Rangers. I like the idea of using these to build a larger army which has been tasked to follow in the wake of the Rangers and deal with some of the more numerous foes that the Rangers can't battle on their own. Maybe this could be a good idea for a new Oathmark army!
Both of the new characters and the shields are available to snap up from North Star right now.
Will you be picking them up?

Shady looking folk… I wouldn’t trust them.
Dodgy Nick Kershaw fan’s ?
Great for scout troops.
Those look really nice.
These are fantastic. I’ve already got some RoSD minis but no actual rangers yet, these two are strong contenders. Looks like they would make excellent Elladan and Elrohir for all of you not Lord of the Rings fans.
