Crusade With Footsore’s Outremer Range For The Barons’ War
April 3, 2023 by brennon
Footsore Miniatures & Games has released a pretty impressive range of additional Medieval miniatures in 28mm for you to use when playing out The Barons' War battles on the tabletop. Head off on a Crusade with the new Outremer supplement for the game and a whole host of stunning miniatures.
The Barons' War - Outremer // Footsore Miniatures
Outremer, also known as The Crusader States sets you up in a "political hotbed" as the creators have said where the various Christian States are vying for control of The Holy Land whilst also dealing with other forces looking to take back their land. This means that you find yourself, alongside your barons, fighting in a land of scorching sun, inhospitable terrain and indeed facing down all manner of new challenges.
You can either dive into Outremer with the Franks, Crusaders or other Military Orders or head down the route of playing as the Forces Of Islam that can be led by a Sultan or Emir of your creation. As well as telling your own stories, you can also delve into a host of additional rules, new named characters and a linked scenario-based campaign called Peril On The Pilgrim Road. This all comes together to produce a wonderful book packed with options for skirmishing during the Crusades.
The supplement needs The Barons' War Core Rulebook to play and features amazing artwork by the talented Peter Dennis!
Outremer Miniatures
As with the Kickstarter campaign that supported this, the range also comes with a whole host of amazing miniatures. You can go down the route of the Military Orders are you can see with some grim-looking warrior monks and knights.
Military Order Knight Commander // The Barons' War
You could also choose wisely (or poorly, depending on who you ask) and get your hands on some of these somewhat sour-looking Crusaders. Despite the mess that the Crusades turned out to be, it's a fascinating period of history to delve into and makes for amazing painting and hobbying, especially with miniatures like these.
The Templars // The Barons' War
I know a lot of folks are going to be delving into this for that scenario-based campaign. With that, you'll perhaps want to be picking up some of these Pilgrims and watching over them on the battlefield.
Holy Relic Priest & Pilgrim Guard // The Barons' War
The scope for different battles, skirmishes and stories is wide when it comes to Outremer and The Barons' War in general. This gets expanded all the more with the addition of the Armies Of Islam for Outremer.
Forces Of Islam Commander // The Barons' War
Once again, some brilliant miniatures from the folks at Footsore and Warhost. They have knocked it out of the park when it comes to the options for this range. I like the idea of going for the Armies Of Islam, especially with the different colours you get to play with when it comes to painting up your warbands.
Forces Of Islam Spearmen // The Barons' War
These are just some of the releases that are available for The Barons' War and the Outremer supplement. You can find a LOT more over on the Footsore Miniatures & Games Webstore where they've got all the bits and bobs you need for making warbands. You just need to work out what character you're going to make and how mean/nice they intend to be when marching forth across the sands of The Holy Land!
Will you be scooping these up?

Nice looking models
Good looking figures for players to get at.
Looks like a feasible paintjob for all of those with the Slap**** method. A good selection of models to showcase.
Lovely models and the free-hand islamic caligraphy on those shields is amazing. Especially the second model from the left!
