GF9 Expands Battlefield In A Box Range With Hextech!
March 23, 2023 by brennon
Gale Force Nine has announced a new addition to their Battlefield In A Box range. A new partnership has come together as they have worked with Thunderhead Studio to produce a new fully painted Sci-Fi terrain for use in your smaller-scale mech games like BattleTech, Steel Rift and the like!
Hextech // Gale Force Nine
Designed by Christoper Wailes, this new selection of hex-based terrain will land on your tabletops in July. Much like with the rest of the Battlefield In A Box range, you can crack it out and get it down to the tabletop very quickly.

Each of the sets will have two buildings that come in two different paint schemes. You'll also note that the hex bases have been included so they should match up well with your gaming tables. That resin base can also be removed if you'd prefer to use these for something like Dropzone Commander.

The first wave of terrain covers six different boxed sets. It feels like if you picked up all of these you would have a proper cityscape without much (if any!) hassle at all!

There is some stunning height to these miniatures and so much detail worked into the terrain pieces. As stated above, it would be great to see these dropped into games like BattleTech but also Steel Rift that we dove into a couple of weeks ago.
Could you be tempted to pick up this new Hextech terrain from Gale Force Nine?

Uuuuuh…. shiny…. and “just in time” for the new BattleTech Kickstarter XD
Hmm… not on their shop yet… sad. Would like to know the price of admission 8)
but BotWar?
Would also work for Bot War scale wise but not design as much.
Future Bot wars ?
I have those HexTech buildings. They weren’t pre-painted but they were pretty good quality. Depending on the price I might pick up some more.
Nice an getting some great new’er total recall film version from the buildings.
Interesting, usually cant knock GF9 terrain other than the cost.
I had actually had my eye on these already as they are a stl set for 3D printing, however two different studios are offering it (Thunderhead Studio and Steel Warrior Studios), so I wonder who actually made the files?
Thunderhead make them, Steel Warrior is closing down as of the end of last year if I remember correctly
Those look rather good.
