Dark Sword Unleash Two New Dragons On Adventuring Parties
March 7, 2023 by brennon
Dark Sword Miniatures has released two new mighty Dragons onto their webstore for you to use in your 28mm Fantasy adventures. We start with a helpful Brass Dragon who might be eager to aid your adventurers rather than outright kill them.
Brass Dragon // Dark Sword Miniatures
Being Metallic rather than Chromatic, this Brass Dragon might be looking to offer some sage advice to those who visit them in their lair. The sculpt certainly shows that with a clawed hand outstretched, gesturing and contemplating some rich lore that would help your heroes as they seek out the big bad evil of your campaign.
Brass Dragon // Dark Sword Miniatures
This miniature comes from Andrew Pieper and was painted by Aaron Lovejoy in the example you see here. I really like the over-emphasised head crest that gives the miniature a distinctly regal look. That design carries through onto the armour on his underside as well. I also like that the wings are folded shut here making it a little easier to work on painting-wise as well!
The next of the dragons is the sneaky Green Dragon who is working its way through the woods, looking for prey.

This miniature is also from Andrew Pieper and once again has been designed to match that old-school D&D feel that many will be familiar with in various pieces of artwork. I love the scale work on this Green Dragon which echoes the more natural feel of the creature and you could see it blending into a forest set-up.

The sneaking pose also marks it out as a predator, head down low as it tracks you and gets ready to pounce. Again, it's neat that the wings are folded up so that they can work their way through the trees. That piercing yellow eye painted by Aaron Lovejoy is gorgeous and I would love to have a crack at this myself.
Both of these dragon miniatures are 28mm in scale and come in resin. They stand fairly impressively next to regular 28mm miniatures so they should have a good presence on the tabletop during games.
Cultists & More!
As well as the new dragons, you can also get your hands on loads of additional releases by Dark Sword for the month of March.
Cultists With Raised Tome // Dark Sword Miniatures
One of the miniatures that totally caught my eye was this old fellow. This Cultist has done what so many haven't been able to achieve and live long enough to grow a big grey beard. Most Cultists surely end up getting sacrificed or killed early in their tenure I would guess!
Make sure to check out more of the new Fantasy releases from Dark Sword over on their webstore.

Those look really good.
Nice, but to my way of thinking, Ral Partha Dragons are still the best.
Gerry preaching the correct scale for A Billion Suns XD
I really love Dark Sword Miniatures but as they state on their shipping info: “We do not ship to Central America, South America, Spain, Russia, many parts of Europe or the UK at this time.” This means getting them from across the pond is difficult and in the UK I can only find a couple of retailers that stock them and the import tax since Brexit makes them jolly expensive. On eBay there is also not much choice and again are expensive (you hate scalpers @lloyd!) or the latest releases are simply not available. What we really need is a… Read more »
