The Seraphon Get Revamped For Warhammer Age Of Sigmar!
January 27, 2023 by brennon
Games Workshop dropped a pretty awesome preview for those wanting to play as the Seraphon in Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. The range is getting a bit of a revamp with new plastic miniatures representing older units and some new miniatures as well.

Leading the way, we have the new Slann Starmaster miniature which is a big new plastic kit. This offers you a whole host of fun options to use when personalising your own Slann Starmaster. You can add a whole host of accessories and more into the mix here including Skink servants and little critters drawn to their magical might.

This should sit nicely alongside the plastic miniature for Kroak that we got a few years ago. There are some great little nudges and nods in the kit that speak to the strange, magical technology that the Slann use. If you're going to be soaring around the heavens in massive "starships" it would make sense that some of that technology gets added into the mix when you hit the battlefield.
New miniatures come in the form of the Raptadon Riders. They come in two flavours with the Chargers rushing forth into combat...

...and the Hunters which use ranged weapons instead. There are some excellent Aztec/Mayan vibes with these miniatures and it's always nice to see more dinosaurs on the tabletop. Are you as weirded out by those faces as we are?

It's neat to see more units getting added into the mix and I'm sure that Seraphon fans will be happy that they've got more swift killers to use when ambushing enemy armies. As long as you get to use the quote "clever girl" at some point during your games, I think you're onto a winner.
Last but not least, we have some new plastic miniatures to replace the existing Saurus Warriors. This is a brand-new plastic kit that showcases the Saurus as proper, serious killers. You can paint them up either as the Sarus of Azyr or those that have coalesced down in the jungles of The Mortal Realms.

I love how beefy and brutal the Saurus Warriors look with this new kit. Imagine them stomping forward and ripping Chaos Warriors in half. I am very, very tempted to start a Seraphon army right now.
Watch out for these new Seraphon landing later this year in Summer...

In between now and then, you've got the new Battletomes for Beasts Of Chaos and Gloomspite Gitz THEN two Chaos Battletomes, two Death Battletomes and one Order Battletome. So, a lot of rules!
Could you be tempted to snap up some new Seraphon for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar?

Great looking dino troops.
These are nice, I like the mounts they are very thematic
The Sauri are good sculpts and long overdue. Those, with the finned ferocity of feathery raptadons, are going to make for more interesting tabletops. It looks like competition in the design market is good for this overhaul.
Those are some nice updates for Lizardmen.
The update to the Saurus is just great. They are the ones that truly shine out for this release for me. I am not really a fan of the skinks standing on the Raptadony things – even though I must admit they are beautiful sculpts.
Loving the Sauri (Saurs? Sauruses?) and the new skink mounts! The skinks standing on top of them are cool, but do appear a bit… disconnected from the model? Anyway: Yes, these sculpts ARE tempting.
Why do people find lizard men annoying?
Because they axolotl questions…
Great sculpts! I really like the beefy Saurus warriors! The Slann update looks good. I don’t know if it is the lighter paint job on the faces, but the Raptadon faces look a bit off to me too…
The Slann and Saurus Warriors look great. While the sculpts of the Raptordons look good why are they standing on the hips of the raptors? That’d be the worst place to stand as they’d constantly be moving…it’d be like trying to stand on the worst balance board ever…covered in oil.
