Ravensburger continues the announcement of more Middle-earth-themed board games for this year. The Lord Of The Rings: Adventure Book Game is going to be landing later this year and is aimed at families who want to play out this epic Fantasy saga without having to dive into something like War Of The Ring!

The Lord Of The Rings: Adventure Book Game // Ravensburger

As in The Lord Of The Rings, you must muster a Fellowship and head off across Middle-earth to destroy The One Ring before Sauron covers all the lands in shadow. A session of this Adventure Book Game is played out over eight Chapters which are flipped through as part of the board game book (above). Each chapter provides you with unique challenges and puzzles for you to solve that will keep the story going.

As mentioned, this is a game that is aimed at families so that means there ain't no single person controlling the deadly forces of Sauron. Instead, you work together as a team (or perhaps even solo!) to see if you can win together.

The Lord Of The Rings: Adventure Book Game - Miniatures // Ravensburger

In The Lord of the Rings Adventure Book Game, Sauron's shadow has fallen across Middle-earth, and the One Ring must be destroyed. In order to complete their daunting quest, players need to work together to help cherished Lord of the Rings characters journey from The Shire to the fires of Mordor, all while avoiding the Eye of Sauron.

There are eight chapters for you to play through in the box and if you're not looking to spend a whole evening on it, each chapter apparently only takes about twenty miniatures to play. Sounds perfect for those looking to sit down with the kids after dinner and play something before bedtime perhaps.

Look out for the release of this new Adventure Book Game at Target in February. It will be interesting to see where else this is going to be available and how well it goes down.

Could you see yourself snapping this up?
