The butchers bill.

Amimosity only happened 4 times! That’s absurd, even though 6 spiders got shot by ‘friendly fire’!

The net result was my commander lived throughout l, in fact he was not even touched!

My left flank collapsed beyond hope, the middle looked very unhappy.

Well, the where fleeing.

The right flank was utterly solid and looked good to stomp some more, however a small problem was on my horizon.

The full empire artillery battery was about to train down upon me after finishing the centre. I also had a daemon prince with wings bearing down on me. Only one wound mind you! I think I could have put up a solid fight for 3/4 more turns then the overall battle may well have gone to the empire chaos coalition.

But the strategic victory is mine as my commander is very much alive. Also the Moral victory is clearly mine! Since when does Chaos and Empire unite!? Honestly! Whomever the empire sent to hire those north did not check their credentials well enough! ‘A little too physically corrupted and a wee bit more daemonic than I expected me lord. Do I tell them to go home? Aaaannnnd should I do it with a note of some sort?’

We had to do something as the guys just are not keeping up with the painting progress. I will have to paint up a host more empire to aid them. Especially as our next game will be 8000 points, they will probs need the help.

Magic was dominated by the empire, who did spiffing work with lord of heavens using lightning and comets to get rid of many of my rock lobbers and shamans.

Highlight for me, the right flank was excellent for decimating hard hitting chaos warriors/knights and many many reiksguard foot knights! Only a chaos lord on daemonic mount managed to biff off the giants after all this carnage, at which point both giants fell on the lord and killed him! Huzzah!

The spiders did an awesome job, the scuttled over all obstacles and down a sheer cliff face to flank some squashy empire foot troops! Lovely work, shame the ogres came and stomped them.

We may even do exactly the same game again but with us on opposite sides of the table. If we where fighting an all out battle from the start I would have deployed differently, the fast cavalry would have been on my right (in the swamp) and my hard hitters would have been split between the left/right divide line and the right/left divide line. More artillery would have been devoted to getting rid of that bloody ordnance battery.

Would be interesting to see how differently it would have gone.
