28mm Ancient Horse Archers Ride Into Battle With Victrix

The Ancient Horse Archers are now available for you to snap up from the folks at Victrix for those looking to build on their armies of Scythians and Parthians to name two armies of the period.
Scythian & Parthian Horse Archers // Victrix
The sets display one of the elements of Victrix miniatures that I am always banging on about. I absolutely love the dynamic poses that they put both their riders and horses in. There are a lot of miniatures for cavalry where the horses just look like they are on parade. Victrix manage to nail that "heat of the action" look where horses are charging forth in a snapshot of the unfolding battle.

As you can see, there are some neat options when it comes to posing these miniatures as well. There are archers firing in all different directions including the famous Parthian Shot itself. The set comes with enough components to make twelve riders and there are a variety of separate torsos and legs. You will also find a bunch of female warrior torsos in there as well to make alternative Scythians.

The set could be used to make Scythians and Parthians which were armies on their own but also fought alongside the Persians, Greeks and Macedonians. You could use them to represent a variety of different Ancient Horse Archers though depending on your army of choice and the period you're fighting in.

Victrix also mentioned that the horses in this set have been reduced in size to make them more in line with the Steppe horses that would have been used by these armies. I like that little attention to detail that should make some folks very happy as they consult their textbooks.
Could you be tempted by these new Ancient Horse Archers for use during your Historical wargames?
