Builder Campaign: Mid-war

The Tanks from Tobruk made it to the table first as a mix of M14/41s and Semoventes with a couple of 88mm, but not enough to make a proper list.

The Avanti box meant I had enough to make 10 each of M14/41s and Semoventes with a dirty looking 6x 88mm AT guns.  Didn’t make up the 100mm Howitzer artillery and 47mm guns initially so infantry and artillery were notable in their absence, and following a re-stock of Italian infantry at Battlefront it would be rude not to order any,  Two Bersaglieri Rifle Company platoons with trimmings (HMGs, Ass Mortars, 81mm mortars and 47mm AT) and two Bersaglieri Weapons Company platoons soon arrived in the post, but the Assault Engineer platoon remains on backorder.  A recent order for  a box of P26/40s and another of AB41s mean I have more than enough to build multiple mixtures of forces, or 222 points worth overall before command cards.

This project picks up things the weekend after I’ve spent a week building several bases worth of infantry/artillery/etc. and topping the bases with Vallejo’s Desert Sand Earth Texture paste with a small palette knife. Roster and expected reinforcements to follow, but for now here’s a summary shot:

Proxy CR42 Falcos

The two CR42 Falcos probably need explaining… They were out of stock everywhere, but I did spot that Wings of Glory did this model, so I bought a couple of those and adapted to sit of the FoW flight stands.  Scale wise – just consider that they’re ‘far away’.
