Get All The Updates & Pre-Order The SAGA Rulebook 2022

Gripping Beast are now offering up pre-orders for Studio Tomahawk's updated rulebook for SAGA. The new SAGA Rulebook 2022 Edition should be available in early December for those wanting to dive into some epic Historical wargames.

So what's inside this new edition of the book?
"The 2022 version of the Saga Rulebook is to be released in December! It features the fixes, updates and clarifications previously presented in FAQs since 2018. We took this opportunity to rewrite some passages to make them easier for new players to understand BUT the rules themselves do not fundamentally change.
A few other changes brought to the 2022 version will be available in the rulebook FAQ update that will be released at the same time as this product. So a veteran player won't strictly need to get this new rule book, but for those who want an updated copy, without having to consult the FAQ, purchasing this booklet seems like a good idea.
So this is what the 2022 version of the rule book will be easily identifiable, "2022" adorns the cover!"
So not a massive update for those playing SAGA but certainly one that might be tempting for those that like to keep up-to-date with all the little tweaks and changes.

As a reminder, it should be noted that the main SAGA Rulebook just covers the core of the rules and doesn't feature any Battle Boards. As Gripping Beast note on their webstore "...you will need SAGA Age of Vikings, SAGA Age of Crusades, SAGA Aetius & Arthur or another Settings book to fully use these SAGA wargaming rules!"

Sometimes having a book and assorted pieces of paper with FAQs on becomes inconvenient and confusing. I may need to buy this, and pass on the old book to see if I can interest someone else.
Unlike certain rules the update here is just for convenience sake and Studio Tomahawk are being very up front about that. The FAQs are only a few pages and are easy enough to use but I think quite a few players will get the update as it is just easier to have everything on the page at once. If this needs doing then this is definitely a good way forward.
Great to see this is just for convince rather than a necessity, though im sure many will pick these up.

As an update I wondered about how it would have been put out. This makes it easier than figuring out Necromunda.
Tell me about it, I think we’re up to 15 rulebooks at last count (not including the 6 that have been made redundant). NOW trying to find a specific rule (which book is it in, never mind what chapter/page) across 15 books with some listing the same rule but you’ve also got to work out which is the current version?
Now SAGA even with the extra battleboards seems to be a beacon of sanity (and cheap too) compared to other “more popular selling rule systems” 😀
I’m relieved to see that this is just a minor update! I’ll probably pass on it, but it’s very nice to know they’re keeping the rules updated without resorting to a whole new edition. ‘If it ain’t broke…’
