Teeny Armies (FSD 6mm)
Starting Point
Since hearing about Full Spectrum Dominance on OTT six or seven months ago, I’ve been keeping a sneaky eye on it. The idea of a proper combined arms game but feeling like skirmish? Count me in.
To date I’ve only used a couple of 3d printed bits, mainly female heads (cos very few companies are good at giving options), but the sculpts from Lazy Forger are lovely. Rok Minis in the UK do a really good value two player starter box so I took the dive. Around a week later, a big box arrived filled with many many 6mm minis. Cue a very contented afternoon of taking everything (except the infantry) off their supports, cleaning and gluing. Couple of bendy barrels on one vehicle type and only two minor incidents of my clumsy hands breaking the plastic but they were easily fixed with some extra glue.
Basing at this scale is trickier because my usual bird sand, fine though it is, still looks too big next to the infantry. Equally I hate the look of plain bases so went with a little bit of filler (spackle) and a light bit of sand will do for the vehicle bases though.
Now to wait for the Scottish weather to give me a decent day to prime…
