The Forces Of The Emperor have going to be bolstered this week by Games Workshop for those diving deeper into Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. A new book is on the way allowing you to step away from just painting Space Marines.

The Liber Imperium comes with rules for playing as the mighty Imperial Armies of the Horus Heresy. You'll find rules for running the Solar Auxilia, Sisters Of Silence, Legio Custodes and the deadly Officio Assassinorum Clades. Talking of the assassins, there are three of them to choose from thanks to Forge World this weekend.

These miniatures are almost the proto-assassins to those that you'll know from regular games of Warhammer 40,000. Pump your enemies full of toxins, take control of technology and use it for your own ends and cut foes to pieces traditionally with these deadly killers.

Solar Auxilia Releases

Looking at the additional releases for the Liber Imperium, we also have the Solar Auxilia that get themselves some new miniature packs. The first and most impressive of the sets for me is this one for Surgeon-Primus Aevos Jovan and the Medicae Orderlies.

Aevos Jovan isn't the best of doctors but he does get the job done. Released from prison, he brings his surgical skills to the battlefield and is ready to patch up the Solar Auxilia. Jovan comes with two Medical Orderlies and there is also a poor soldier who has been taken down by enemy fire. I wonder if he'll make it through the day.

You can also deliver some serious firepower from afar with the addition of the Solar Auxilia Rapier Batteries.

The Rapier Batteries come with Gravis Multi-Lasers or Quad Launchers allowing you to shred lightly armoured infantry or put holes in something bigger. As is the case with everything in The Horus Heresy, get a fair few of these and you'll be able to melt your enemy from afar easily.

Last but not least, we have a set of Solar Auxilia that can be added to the top of tanks as gunners.

The options in the pack include two pintle-mounted Multi-Lasers and a Heavy Flamer. The design of the Solar Auxilia is absolutely fantastic and I can see why people have been so eager to get stuck in and pick up armies of them for the new edition of The Horus Heresy.

Could you be tempted to snap up these new Forge World releases?
