there was much crying of “YOU SANK MY BATTLESHIP !!”
Thank you for this video, I have been wanting to get into Dystopian Wars 🙂
Loved this really trying to get my friends into dystopian wars too this will help
Love the movement system. Is two new naval games in a year excessive? Mantic’s armada was on the list for 2023 already.
Oh nice one! I’ve been wanting to take a look at some gameplay of this for ages 😀
A How-to-Play is even better! 🙂
Interesting.
Looks like they’ve changed the rules a bit since I last looked at it. Fairly straight forward rules but I’m a little confused by the supporting fire rules.
When a unit shoots, weapons with the same qualities can support eachother. This basically means a gun battery could support a heavy gun battery, but not a rocket battery or torpedo.
Units are best off having the same weapon time as much as possible. When they do, one weapon leads the attack (using the first value for number of dice) and adds the support value of each supporting weapon (the value in brackets). Hope that helps.
That’s what I thought but it appears they did that differently in the video. One ship attacked and one ship supported the attack. Then they did it again to a different target.
time stamp for that? As Elmir said above is how we were playing it, so just checking how it came across in the video. It is possible that it was two different weapon systems which were grouped together for two different targets
12:37, 14:27 and 15:39. After re-watching it, I think it’s three different weapon systems getting supporting fire each time.
yeah it’s a mix, in one instance it is all together, in another one weapon is combined across all ships while another comes in at different range bands so they split their fire. It’s variations
Looking forward to hopefully find some players at some point 🙂
Looking forward to seeing everything the new edition has to offer.
So how to loose with canadians, use ottomans.
I just bought the Kongo fleet box. I love the crisp detail on the resin. I now am looking to get one of the starter sets.
I have always loved Warcradle’s WWX. Until I saw this video I wasn’t that sold on DW….now I am a convert . Can see a purchase of one of the two starters in my future. Thanks gents … *sigh*
Love Dystopian Wars as much as Wild West Exodus. Great game with great models and rules. Thank you guys.
This arrives at the worst of times for me (I’m in the process of moving from a place to another), but I lnow that as soon as everything’s settled down, I’m diving into Dystopian Wars. I missed it the last time, now, this game is for me!!!
I havent really touched a naval rule set since Man O war! but this did look interesting and the rules fairly straight forward.
Always enjoy a ‘how to play’, find them very useful.
Nice sea mat too
These 2p starter sets look great!
Just got the Prometheus set, and now this. It seems I was meant to play Dystopian Wars.
A good fun video guy’s who doesn’t love chucking big lumps of mettle at each other.
Would love to see more of these battle reports. Perhaps a three or four player one?
Soooo much water….
Loving the aesthetic can’t wait to try the game myself.
This starter set is most interesting, offering a feel for vastly different force conflicts, as well as a definite ‘pulp’ flavor to the table.
Interesting to see the OTT crew learning how to play, Vs already knowing and just running thru a turn.
Great play through I really love this new set of rules seems much more streamlined
