This beast of a model is getting painted now. I had to carefully cover the perfekt glossy-black cockpit panes with masking tape before priming all sub-assemblies with a very light grey. Next I gave all assemblies a cenital misting with off-white, and then the detail work started. subtly shading recesses and highlighting edges – on a model this big, a more contrasty shading and highlighting approach does not look good, because it is huge enough for natural shadows and highlights. I mainly use subtle shadows and highlights to define all details and shapes. What is more prominent (and fun) is the weathering.

What is left to do is the underside of the fuselage, the left and right stabilizer fins as well as the landing gear.
