Warhammer 40K’s Astra Militarum Get A New Rogal Dorn Battle Tank
October 24, 2022 by brennon
Games Workshop dropped another big preview for the Astra Militarum of Warhammer 40,000 this week. We got a look at the new Rogal Dorn Battle Tank that is armed and armoured as befitting the mighty Primarch.

Weapon-wise, the Rogal Dorn can be armed with two Battle Cannons (yes, two) or the massive Oppressor Cannon. This obviously makes this tank a pretty good choice when it comes to blowing up enemy vehicles, Knights and it might even have a pop at a Titan if it's feeling frisky. It also comes with a co-axial Autocannon on the side...

It wouldn't be an Astra Militarum tank if it wasn't armed with even more weapons. It has a Castigator Gatling Cannon on the hull which can be swapped out for a Pulveriser Cannon. So yeah, lots of guns means a lot of dead enemies.

We're not done. It also comes with Heavy Stubbers or Meltaguns plus you can also pop Heavy Bolters and Multi-Meltas onto this thing. If you've fired every single last shot from this thing then there is also a pintle-mounted Heavy Stubber on the top. Just don't expect to live too long exposed on top of such a BIG tank.
The kit is also said to come with a bunch of stowage, track links and more that can be used to decorate your Rogal Dorn Battle Tank. I can see a lot of tank commanders (John) feeling like this might have to become part of their new Astra Militarum army for Warhammer 40,000.
Will you be picking up one or maybe even two of these?

Don’t care how it plays, just loving the little details in the kit like the hull equipment and the more rounded sides.
Looking forward to building and playing with these toys whether or not they get fielded in 40K. =3
Primarse Russ! There’s very much a M48/M60 vibe doing on with the sheer size and shape of the turret.
Its still comedically mad looking but I have to say I quite like this, its bigger so its clearly going to cost more. Like the addition of stowage, though you can never have enough stowage.
So Dorn is out tanking the Leman Russ, Russ tanks.? Lol.
Looks like a fabulous tank.
It’s a nice looking tank, but I don’t really see how it’s really any different to a Leman Russ. That’s kind if what it looks like – an alternative Leman Russ.
Don’t get me wrong – I do like it because I like Imperial Guard Tanks, it just doesn’t seem all that different to what’s already there and I don’t see how it fills a different role. Especially when you consider that the Leman Russ has many variants with different turret weapons
Oh man that’s awesome, I love it. Looks like a bigger, better version of what I was going for with my leman russ a few (hah) years ago: https://www.gtazz.com/blokecrafted/warhammer40k/kiv-guard/leman-russ-variant/progress-3/
Jeebus that it nuts. Do I like it? I’ll sleep on it
Having played Imperial Guard before, i can say i like the one better! LOTS OF GUNS 🙂 is always cool…
I like the silhouette of it and can’t wait to see what @johnlyons is going to see in this weeks news about this one!
Ah they named another IG tank after primarch and not bad looking tank at all.
