TTCombat is expanding its collection of undead and bloodsuckers this week with pre-orders going up for the new The Drowning & The Drowned for the Strigoi of Carnevale. Someone crossed Vlad Dracula...

The Drowning & The Drowned - Carnevale

The Drowning & The Drowned // Carnevale

This set represents those who have displeased Vlad Dracula and have found themselves thrown into the canals of Venice. These vampires have been turned into what comes to be known as Sinkers, a Strigoi that has spent too much time submerged in the eerie waters of the canals.

These are not like the Aquatic Strigoi which are created when one of them eats the flesh of the Rashaar, these creatures are twisted and broken, a shadow of their former selves. You could imagine them slinking around in sewers and reaching up out of the water to drag unfortunates down into their lairs.

They are led by the Ferryman (or at least pointed in the right direction). This fellow has come to claim the souls of those that have died by the waterside. No one knows what lies beneath his mask (cool!). Perhaps it's one of the Sinkers who has retained more of their former selves and tries to continue their work?

Howl At The Moon!

As well as The Drowning & The Drowned, we also have the mighty Varcolac.

Varcolac - Carnevale

Varcolac // Carnevale

Varcolac is the name used by the Romani to describe these creatures. They are human but turn into terrible werewolves when the moon is full or under the command of Vlad Dracula. This particular Varcolac has found its way to Venice and could well be a man named Jacinto Molina (a classic horror film reference?).

I love werewolves and it's always awesome to see one done well. I think the proportions are spot on here and I like the pose, lunging forward to tear someone apart for straying too close. A solid addition to the Carnevale lineup.

What do you make of these new miniatures?
