The Idea

The idea is to take Flames of War and replace the miniatures with 6mm ones while keeping the footprint the same. Infantry Squads become Platoons, Individual Tanks become Tank Troops and Companies become Battalion or Brigades.

A 15mm Tank is about the same size as a Flames of War Large Base so mounting tanks on a Large base shouldn't change anything.A 15mm Tank is about the same size as a Flames of War Large Base so mounting tanks on a Large base shouldn't change anything.
I'll try and base the tanks in their proper Troop size. Imagine the base with texture and some rocksI'll try and base the tanks in their proper Troop size. Imagine the base with texture and some rocks

Granted this is 2/3rds of an Armoured Artillery Brigade. I might cut the artillery down to 2 SPG's per base (Four Bases being one Battery of an Armoured Artillery Brigade). An example of a Late War idea. Not sure how to manage special guns in units, probably easiest to just designate one base as the An example of a Late War idea. That's over 300 Points of Flames of War without upgrades and not counting the 50 Universal Carriers. Printed in an afternoon for maybe $10.That's over 300 Points of Flames of War without upgrades and not counting the 50 Universal Carriers. Printed in an afternoon for maybe $10.

I was blown away by the detail on the Priests. The helmets are wrong but at 6mm I don't really care.I was blown away by the detail on the Priests. The helmets are wrong but at 6mm I don't really care.

Great idea, @elessar2590, clicking UP the command scale while clicking DOWN the miniature scale.

Must be perfect for gamers in Australia with the increase in shipping to have access to 3D printing

Interesting stuff, I like it! Will be following this project to see how it develops.

Re. the base with the Churchill tanks, I’m not sure that Fireflys were included in Churchill squadrons. Churchills were infantry tanks and attached to the infantry divisions who then had their own towed anti tank guns. The fireflys were issued into armoured squadrons (mainly Shermans and Cromwells). Later into the war, some of the armoured divisions organised the fireflys (and later Challengers) into dedicated squadrons, so you could represent a whole base with specialised tanks.

At least I think that’s how the British organised their armour….
