A brand new servant of Chaos was revealed for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar by Games Workshop earlier this week. Eternus, Blade Of The First Prince has been crafted by the twisted magics of Be'lakor and is going to be hitting tabletops as his servant and messenger, ready to put Archaon in his place.

Eternus was once one of Archaon's Varanguard known as Atarus. When he turned his back on Archaon he was sent up to the Cursed Skies and found himself trapped there like the souls of the recently slain Stormcast Eternals. However, Be'lakor, who created the Cursed Skies to damn Sigmar's armies, plucked his soul from the storm and turned him into a mockery of his foe's divine warriors.

Atarus was reborn as Eternus and with the souls of so many trapped within his own body, he is ready to take to the battlefield and serve Be'lakor unflinchingly. He is battlefield commander, spymaster and champion of Be'lakor who will do anything to stop Archaon.

He wears armour stripped of Archaon's colours and carries his Deathglaive and Skullflail to smite his enemies. He is also mounted on the back of a Drakocephalus and I love how this miniature feels like a total "screw you" to Sigmar and his Stormcast Eternals. A dark reflection of their storm-wracked might.

Rules for Eternus will be coming in the new Slaves To Darkness Battletome that is scheduled for release in the next few months.

What do you make of Eternus?
