September 2, 2022 by avernos
It's OTT Weekender time! The Leagues Of Votann have been revealed! Has Games Workshop hit the jackpot with Warhammer 40K's newest faction?
With loads of new miniatures shown off for the return of the "Squats" to Warhammer 40,000 in the form of the Leagues Of Votann, could we see a lot of people picking these up as their new Space Dwarf force for the grimdark future and perhaps other tabletop wargames too?

And then there was one…
It’s the Weekender! Halaluha it’s a four day Hobby Weekend for me! ??
I will diffently be ordering ‘The Leagues Of Votann’ army box and their extras. I used to have a Squats army decades ago.
Breachy blinders, Ben?
Birmingham SWAT team assemble
Ay it
its weekender time Yay.
so when Gerry says he knows of them means he has got most/all their figures?
Normally the safest assumption…..
That policy would solve many problems of the moment?

Ohhh Foxy
HULK smash Sentinel’s.
ABS Homeworld.
How do dwarves shoot from behind cover that they can’t see over?
Badly

Power to the people
a fab show Guy’s.
I kinda want to get the Votann stuff… Not to use in 40k, but other sci-fi games.
Weekend is here Wooo. i did have ? if you win and live outside Uk and friends can you get gw stuff?
yes, since it’s a prize not a purchase
Happy Weekend.
may your weekend be filled with spaceships and lollypops. also may you get to enjoy the Greatest movie ever made.
Well the Fireforge Arab infantry is the “win” release in this weekender (although those GW Gorechosen gave then a close run). Perfect for those playing “Oldhammer” to finally do that Araby army they never got around to doing.
The Voltan minis, I just can’t get enthusiastic about. I can’t nail down what it is (is it the paint job with the bright colours or the fact they just look like another Space Marine chapter to me)? I’m sure they will have their fans however.
The League of Votann are doing nothing for me.
The dwarf rock on foot is just one of the most subtly stupid things about the range
Happy weekender ?
That’s it mate. Come the revolution, you’ll be first against the wall!
Tooting Popular Front for the people
Well said Foxy
close enuf
Help, I fell of the horse and can’t back up.
(read: I’m totally wasting every free minute on playing video games, will be back later)
The space dwarves are a little dissapointing. The bulk of them feel derivative. I know that their society shares roots within the empire, but it woukd have been nice for them to be different. The bulk of the troops just look like space marines with a face lift. The mole guy looks like a reduced scale ogre. The robots have an adeptus mechanics edge to them, if less tendrilly. The poses all look cut and pasted from elsewhere, like they were all designed by a machine that has standard designs. They had a chance to do something quit different here… Read more »
Great indie of the week. I really like the background setting they provided – geopolitical maps, unit markings and OoBs; a fantastic resource and a good example for building a homebrew fictional campaign.
yes, it’s totally unnecessary to sell their miniatures and that’s why I love it, the attention to detail and world-building around it is magnificent
Check out that Dweghom stuff..
