Water-Dwellers Previewed For Oathsworn’s Burrows & Badgers
August 31, 2022 by brennon
Michael from Oathsworn Miniatures has been working on some more sculpts for Burrows & Badgers, their wonderful 28mm Fantasy skirmish wargame. This time, the focus was on some water-dwelling creatures.
Newt Knight // Burrows & Badgers
The first couple of miniatures featured are a pair of Newts! We've never seen them before in the game but they are a staple of many a British countryside garden and village pond. So, it makes sense for them to pop up in the game. The first of the miniatures is a Knight with a spear at the ready.
The second of the miniatures goes from prim and proper to wild and dirty with this Newt Wildling. He has probably had just about enough of people calling him dirty.

Both of these miniatures look fantastic and I love how much detail is worked into the sculpts. It's one of the things that makes these miniatures such a dream to paint. I think all of the little details on the skin of the Newts would pop with a good dose of Contrast that perhaps then gets a drybrush as a highlight.
The next water-dweller is a Water Vole, another new creature for the Burrows & Badgers world.
Water Vole (Front) // Burrows & Badgers
This chap looks like you've just roused him from his sleep and tried to pilfer something from his camp. He looks rather hefty but I'd reckon he's still quite small. Still, you don't want to mess with a stocky Water Vole!
Water Vole (Rear) // Burrows & Badgers
The first Newt would be a good addition to a warband focused around the Town Guard that we saw on Kickstarter recently whilst the Wildling and Water Vole would suit something more rakish. I sense some new vagabonds joining some roguish warbands in the near future.
Keep an eye out as there are probably plenty more sculpts coming up for Burrows & Badgers!
