The Jordanian’s Get Kitted Out For Flames Of War

There's more Fate of a Nation coming your way from Battlefront this January for Flames of War with a M40 106mm Recoilless Team, Heavy Mortar Platoon, Artillery HQ & Crew, and Jordanian Command Teams...
Once again there's some big guns ready to rain down some artillery on the enemy and those Recoilless Rifles will be pounding a hole in tanks across the field. While I'm still not entirely sure whether or not I like the 15mm infantry from Battlefront for Flames of War I do like what they do with tanks and big guns like these.
Do you need more Fate of a Nation miniatures to bulk out your collection?
Could it soon be time to see Battlefront take on real modern combat?
I’ll agree that the infantry figures look a little strange, not sure if that’s the painting. I assume these are metal (all the crew for the vehicles I’ve bought from Battlefront have been metal). I guess there’s only so much you can do with metal at this scale? A lot of detail, though. The British style helmets, the slings, the leggings, all these are nice touches. If memory serves, the RJA was still largely outfitted with British-style equipment and ToE in ’67. And check out the command team, with their adorable little picnic table! All you need now is some… Read more »
I would strongly suggest you check out Tom Meier’s range from Khurasan Miniatures to see just what you can do with metals in 15mm scale. Or the Guppies infantry from the Salamander kickstarter (if they ever get a full release instead of KS only). FOW minis never really were “pushing the limits” in regards to sculpting.
I tend to avoid metals whenever possible, and actually don’t play Flames of War, either. I was just making some casual observations and jokes. 🙂
That 106 RR just makes me cringe. They were still in the inventory when I joined the army in the 80’s, and we lugged them around on jeeps. I think that configuration killed more Canadians than any peacekeeping mission ever did. They were super top heavy and you could almost always find one upside down in the ditch on any road move.
Once again, atrocious soldier figures. 15mm… no thanks.
I’ve seen a few other 15mm infantry stands lately with what looked like slightly over-sized heads. I think its a little cool looking in its own way.
