This weekend, you'll be able to pre-order the new boxed set for Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team - Into The Dark. This new set introduces battles set within a space hulk where the Imperial Navy are clashing with a Kroot Kinband looking to pilfer secrets from the depths of Gallowdark.

With Into The Dark, you'll get access to all of the miniatures, terrain, accessories, rules and more that you need to start playing games of Kill Team. The basic rules for Kill Team can be found for FREE HERE but the book(s) included will offer a more in-depth rundown of how the game works.

More importantly, you get your hands on two new Kill Teams for use with the game. You might choose to go with the hardened and grizzled Imperial Navy Breachers who are armed with deadly shotguns and are ready to properly "breach and clear" airlocks in search of the Xenos infiltrators.

The set comes with some super awesome miniatures that certainly give you a different taste of the way the Astra Militarum operate. Their more baroque armour that has that "diving suit" aesthetic works really well for a bunch of Sci-Fi Gothic soldiers heading into the unknown. They are also accompanied by the C.A.T. and the Gheistskull.

On the other side of things, we have the Kroot Farstalker Kinband that Lloyd wasn't too impressed with back when we covered it on The Weekender.

This set comes with a proper hunting pack of Kroot that comes armed with a myriad of familiar and unfamiliar weapons. I think Lloyd was right that they don't have a lot of motion to them but I think the sculpts themselves are very nice. They are a lot more detailed than your classic Kroot that we've been stuck with for just over twenty years.

It will be interesting to see how this Kinband gets introduced into the wider game of Warhammer 40,000. I would assume they will become available separately later with either a free Dataslate or they will simply get folded into T'au players' armies as replacements.

The set also comes with a new set of terrain to represent the Space Hulk known as Gallowdark.

You get big thick wall sections, doors (that open) and lots of other bits of scatter terrain that would be handy for those diving into Kill Team games in the tight-knit environments of a Space Hulk. There is also a game board that is used for the basis of your set-up and you could even be super inventive if you really wanted and create different floors if you had enough of the boards!

Returning Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team Sets

As well as the new set for Into The Dark, there are also going to be some sets returning to the tabletop led by the new Kill Team Annual 2022. This will contain updated rules and additional material for some of the Kill Teams in previous sets and help even the playing field for some Kill Teams that have been left behind.

You will find information for a variety of Kill Teams including the ones shown below...

You might remember these Kill Teams from the last edition of the game and also Kill Team: Moroch which was the previous boxed set for the game this edition. All very complicated but you'll be able to pick up some new Kill Teams and have fun with them in your games.

These will also be great options for those looking to pick up more miniatures for regular games of Warhammer 40,000. The Elucidian Starstriders would be a great way to expand something Inquisitorial on the tabletop and the Blooded are a good way to add more traitors to your Chaos forces.
