A bunch of awesome new releases are coming to Dystopian Wars for September. Warcradle Studios has been showing off a new Battlefleet Set alongside a few additional releases. We start with the Archimedes Battlefleet Set for the Enlightened.

As you can see, a mighty Battlefleet is powering into the heart of the action on the high seas soon. The focal point of this fleet is the new Archimedes Class Vault Ship which is seen as quite the prize amongst the ranks of the Enlightened.
Archimedes Class Vault Ship // Dystopian Wars
Each of these ships is seen as something of a scientific marvel and can often be considered quite magical by the uneducated masses. Housed within the heart of each ship is either a Callimachus Chrono-Lathe or Diophantus Chaos-Orb which offers great power to those captaining these vessels.
Another of the fascinating miniatures that got added to this Battlefleet Set was the Ketos Class Assault Machine! Who wouldn't want one of these?!
Ketos Class Assault Machine // Dystopian Wars
These automata are sent into the depths with subroutines and programming that make them effective and deadly hunters. They are highly effective at hunting down and sundering enemy ships and you'll probably want to include a few of them in your fleet given the chance.
As you will have noted, there are also a lot of other ships for you to consider when it comes to this new Battlefleet. Here's a list of the kind of ships you'll find within the set to play with...
- 1x Archimedes Vault Ship (can also be built as either The Shneider or Nansen Class ship)
- 2x Advance Cruiser (can be built as either a Newton, Zumeena, Vesalius or Origen Class ship)
- 2x Support Cruiser (can be built as either a Plinius, Tacitus. Claudius or Quintilian Class ship)
- 2x Frontline Cruiser (can be built as either a Stiletto, Lovelace, Copernicus, Antarctica, Chatalet or Ulysses Class ship)
- 2x Assault Machine (can be built as either a Ketos or Lotan Class machine)
- 2x Enlightened Escort
- 6x Merian (can also be built as a Germain Zebek)
- 6x Submarine (can be built as either a Praxilla or Diogenes Class ship)
I like that there is a good mix of submarines in this force alongside the Assault Machines. It gives the Enlightened a seriously sneaky edge and adds to the idea of them being a dangerous threat to the other factions of the Dystopian Age.
Marena Battlefleet Set
If you like the idea of stomping around in the sea with automata then you might also want to look at the Marena Battlefleet Set.

The Commonwealth get to go all in when it comes to introducing Colossi into their fleets. Why would you bother with ships at this point when you could have a mass of towering constructs surging through the sea looking to turn enemy vessels into "boat swords"?
Kostroma Class Vitruvian Colossus // Dystopian Wars
These are seriously cool miniatures that are packed with detail and would be amazing to paint. You could have a lot of fun with the schemes here and then work on how wading through the sea has affected their exteriors. Get your weathering effects at the ready for these!
You can arm these Colossi with such amazing-sounding weapons as the Mag-Rail Axe. There is also a Cryo-Generator that can be used to form icebergs in front of opposing vessels so they crash into them in a mass of twisted metal and explosive weaponry.
This set comes with...
- 3 x Marena Vitruvian Colossus (can also be built as Kostroma Vitruvian Colossus)
- 6 x Boyar Heavy Frigate
...so you can have some serious fun with these. Quite literally stand out from the crowd with these.
Scandinavian Frontline Squadrons
Last but not least, we have the Scandinavian Frontline Squadrons which offer up some additional bonus ships for the Scandinavians of the Imperium.

This gives you two additional Jotunn Assault Reavers which can be built as Odin Reavers or Gungnir Light Reavers. There are also four Hoth Heavy Corvettes in the set that can be used to screen your advancing fleet as it powers through the sea. As someone who likes their Nordic-themed miniatures across all manner of different games, this might now be the fleet for me.

The Ketos assault machines have me interested in how they work in game.
