Empress Miniatures has been previewing some more of the Vietnam War models that are going to be coming to the tabletop. Their recent previews have been focusing on the SASR and creating detailed miniatures packed with character and storytelling.

This particular miniature is wearing their jungle greens and carries a suppressed Stirling SMG. It was a reliable and accurate weapon that made it a good choice for the special forces. What's quite nice about the reveals from Empress is that they often drop some nuggets of story alongside their reveals.

With this fellow, they talked about a gibbon that stole one of the trooper's packs and took it up a tree. The patrol was then chased by the gibbon who pelted them with poo before the SASR had to be extracted.

Another of the miniatures is their tribute to Harry (Ron) Harris. He is pictured here with an M16 and grenade launcher and he sadly lost his life to blue-on-blue action. He was one of the Aboriginal Australians that fought in Vietnam who used to favour the Tiger Suit which was often used in wet and dark conditions.

Maybe he can be added to your games and used to tell a different story?
