Liber Mechanicum Coming Soon To Warhammer: The Horus Heresy!
August 8, 2022 by brennon
Warhammer: The Horus Heresy is getting a massive array of pre-orders popping up this weekend from Games Workshop. Before we dive into the armour, walkers and more coming to the Space Marines of The Horus Heresy, there was also the announcement of the new Liber Mechanicum book.

Inside will be the rules for playing as the mechanical monstrosities that fight for the Omnissiah. If you're venturing into the Mechanicum for this new edition of the game or you are looking to bring your Forge World models back to the tabletop then this might be handy to snap up. It will feature rules for the Mechanicum alongside Questoris Households and also Titan Legions.
It also comes in both a physical format and also electronically for those that don't want to haul that massive tome around with them. It's neat to see the non-Astartes factions getting catered for so early on in this new edition.
In support of the Mechanicum's return to the battlefields of The Horus Heresy, there is also going to be a pack of Age Of Darkness Armigers.

These are options for your Questoris Households of the period and the kit will come with a new Age Of Darkness appropriate transfer sheet. You can build them with autocannons as Helverins or as melee-focused Warglaives. A neat addition to The Horus Heresy that is a little bit different and makes good use of the Warhammer 40,000 kits.
Warhammer: The Horus Heresy Vehicles
As well as the addition of the Liber Mechanicum, folks are also going to be able to get their hands on a bunch of vehicles for their various Loyalist and Traitor Legions. This is a mix of vehicles from the Age Of Darkness boxed set and beyond.
Spartan Assault Tank // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy
The Spartan Assault Tank has been joined by the Sicaran Battle Tank. This means some seriously deadly tanks that can utterly demolish anything that stands in their way and also transport your troops into the heart of the action.

It's neat to see these big plastic vehicles hitting the tabletop. If you've managed to finally paint your way through the massive amount of Space Marines in that initial boxed set then you might be wanting a change and a tank is certainly that!
Warhammer: The Horus Heresy Dreadnoughts
As well as the two tanks, there are also kits coming out separately for the Dreadnoughts of The Horus Heresy.

Leviathan Siege Dreadnought // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy
There are lots and lots of weapon options available on the sprues for these Dreadnoughts. You'll end up with enough bits and pieces for your Contemptors and Leviathans but also any other Dreadnoughts that you add to your Legion. I am a big fan of Dreadnoughts and it's neat to see both melee and ranged options for them. They certainly need to be a mainstay of more armies on the tabletop in my opinion!
The Horus Heresy Praetors & Terminators
Capping things off, we scale things down a bit and introduce some more regular Space Marines into the heart of the action. The two Praetors from the Age Of Darkness set are going to be made available separately.

I do like that fellow with the axe quite a lot. I don't need these miniatures but they are very cool and they could be converted up nicely I reckon. With no Legion markings on them, they could be used for whatever Legion you have pledged yourself to. You don't have to just go with Sons Of Horus or Imperial Fists.
If you needed some elite bodyguards for your Praetors then that's where these Terminators sets come in. You can either pick up the Cataphractii Terminator Squad...

...or the Tartaros Terminator Squad.

You might know these from the Burning Of Prospero or Betrayal At Calth. Well, they are now back as separate plastic kits allowing you to dive in and drop some seriously hench Space Marines into your battles. With ten miniatures per set, they are not going to be a pushover! This number matches up with The Horus Heresy nicely but they can still be used in Warhammer 40,000 if you like!
Could you be tempted to dive in and pick up these new Warhammer: The Horus Heresy pre-orders this weekend?
