Defend Your Ancient Bone Ships With Kromlech’s New Terrain

Some brand new Sci-Fi terrain awaits for those looking to design some different-looking battlefields of the grimdark future. With the release of their Sindari Voidfairers, Kromlech has now produced a range of terrain to suit them, the Bone Ship range.

This collection showcases the massive solar sails that propel their Bone Ships through the void. As Kromlech says "they grow like giant flowers from their hull, spread, and turn towards the nearest sun to absorb most of its energy and distribute it throughout the ship's ghastbone conduits".
I love the idea of these massive and very alien-looking creations sprouting from buildings and fluttering and moving above the heads of your Space Elves. I like that they feel eerie and you could imagine them creaking, strange sounds coming from them as the wind passes through the sails.

I also like the idea of approaching this terrain from a different angle. Maybe this Bone Ship has fallen apart and was shattered by some terrible foe. Now, the remnants of that Bone Ship can be found in forgotten corners of a far-off planet by explorers. The Sindari still watch over them as they can be important ways to travel through the void (hence the gates!) but they also stop pesky humans from getting too close.

Even though these pieces of terrain at that point aren't connected to the spiritual network, the solar sails still grow and reach toward the sun. That suddenly gives the terrain a much sadder feel but again, one befitting of the Space Elves of that notable grimdark world.

I think this is terrain that does an essential job. It tells a story. It allows you to weave an exciting narrative into your games before you've even really begun! You could also mix this terrain in with lots of other pieces in order to show how a world has grown up against these strange and fascinating alien artefacts.
Are you going to be picking up these pieces?

I do like this terrain, though I would build it without the sails.
They would be great for space elf players.
They normally make great terrain but honestly I am confused as to what this is suppose to be. In terms of terrain it looks interesting but I cannot be the only one thinking they are going to be a nightmare to store. I am looking at those sails and thinking they are going to break off at some point.
I think it is a no on this one.
Its not mentioned here but all sails are removable so storing is not so big problem 🙂 Already wait to get it in my local store.
Interesting idea but this is stuff anyone can DIY.
If they’re gonna sell terrain it needs to be a lot more detailed and less flat. Something that you can’t make with cardboard in an afternoon.
