Way back in January I bought a tub of Biostrip 20 with a Christmas voucher. Tellingly I haven’t actually had to strip any models yet this year as I have been buying more than I should and trying to crack back into that (growing) pile of unpainted minis.

However, due to some pretty strong feelings I’ve been having recently about the hobby culture overall, I decided I want to strip a bunch of space marines I had sitting around. They were a mixture of Imperial Fists and a joke chapter I was considering painting, Bru Marines based on the colours of Scotland’s greatest creation Irn Bru.

Here we go then…

Everyone lined up and they won't all fit in at once. Officially you are meant to paint the stripper on and then leave it for 30-60 mins with the models on a tray or something similar. I decided to just dunk them in and close the lid so it was cleaner and safer with two cats around who have to investigate everything.Everyone lined up and they won't all fit in at once. These were the Bru Marines who got 40ish minutes. After the first wash in warm water to take the worst off the models. Still a little gunky but not bad. After the first wash in warm water to take the worst off the models. Still a little gunky but not bad.
Finished figure. Genuinely very impressed by this. Not a huge amount of time to do it and being water soluble made the clean up after easy peasy. Be interested to see how long the tub holds upFinished figure. Genuinely very impressed by this. Not a huge amount of time to do it and being water soluble made the clean up after easy peasy. Also very gentle on the minis. Everything that was glued with plastic glue is as strong as it was and even the superglue holding on the brass etched details didn't deteriorated very much.
