40K Kill Team Kroot, Daemonic Primarchs & Necromunda Vehicles!
July 11, 2022 by brennon
Get stuck into a whole host of big Warhammer 40,000-related previews from Games Workshop and the weekend just gone. We start with a big surprise from Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team as we got a look at two new squads that are getting stuck into a new clash in deep space.

The newest version of Kill Team is called Into The Dark. The Gallowdark is a Space Hulk that has appeared in Imperial space and now needs to be investigated. With the Terminators of the Blood Angels somewhat engaged in other conflicts, the Imperial Navy has now been tasked with diving in and checking it out.
This is just a small part of a new Imperial Kill Team and I think they look great! I really like the design of their outfits and I think the weaponry looks ace too. Shotguns always get a raw deal in Warhammer 40,000 I think so it's neat to see them in action with the Imperial Navy. I particularly like the fellow who can load his shotgun by railing it against the shield! Also, love those mag boots!
Fighting against the Imperial Navy we have the Farstalker Kinband Kroot! No Tyranids, no Chaos...Kroot! Lloyd is going to be very happy to see this new Kill Team making its way into the world of Warhammer 40,000.

Again, this is just a snapshot of the new miniatures available for Kill Team but it does give you a neat idea of what's going to be inside the full set. I really like the Shaper leading the way for this squad (I assume it's a Shaper) but the other miniatures do look a bit static. They feel like they should be posed in more hunting stances, sneaking around and getting ready to stab someone in the back.
I would assume that we're going to see a pack of around ten miniatures for both of these Kill Teams that will be available as part of Into The Dark and then separately in the near future. Does this mean this is going to replace the regular Kroot squad for the T'au as well in the near future? Will it be a new specialist unit for your Kroot armies?
Into The Dark // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team
Into The Dark is going to change the way that Kill Team is played as the game goes inside. There will be new rules and terrain included in the set for playing games within the interior of Space Hulks and other locations. None of the core rules will change but there will be plenty of new mechanics for scrapping in tight quarters. It will be very interesting to see where things go with this as new previews pop up.
Angron, Daemon Primarch Of Khorne Revealed!
As well as a look at the close-quarters combats presented in Kill Team, we also have a miniature for the full-scale battlefields of Warhammer 40,000. Here is the miniature for Angron, Daemon Primarch Of Khorne.

This miniature was "leaked" late last week and was then revealed as you see here soon after. It shows the powerful Angron with his daemonic weapons in hand, ready to crush everything that stands in his way. You can still see remnants of his original armour and such in the sculpt and the Butcher's Nails trailing from his skull. The miniature is very, very impressive in my opinion.

Has it got a lot of skulls? Check! Has it got a flaming oversized sword? Check! Is he bellowing and looking badass? Check! This is going to be the miniature that heralds the World Eater's Codex that is in the works. One would hope that the new Khorne Berserkers are going to be getting a proper update alongside their returning Primarch.
Hit The Ash Wastes With New Necromunda Vehicles
Capping things off for the grimdark future of Warhammer 40,000, we have a brand new vehicle for the Goliaths of Necromunda. This is one of the new Maulers (that in no way is influenced by the Brutes of Halo...).
Goliath Maulers // Necromunda

There are two different versions of the Mauler that you can snap up when the kit releases. You can get the version above with that mangling buzzsaw on the front. How does this vehicle actually work? I don't think it really matters in a wild Sci-Fi setting. All we know is that it grinds forward and chews up vehicles and gangers with equal joy.
There is also this version with the tyre in place of the grinder but who really wants this one?
Goliath Maulers // Necromunda
Ah, I know who does. Orks! These might have been designated for the Goliaths but there are so many Ork players who are going to be buying these and using them as Ork vehicles in their armies. The Speed Freeks are going to be bubbling over with joy.
It was a little underwhelming that we got to see just one vehicle revealed for the different factions of Necromunda. I think it would have been neat to see this one in full and then maybe some concept art of what the other factions are getting. That could have cranked the hype levels up a bit I reckon.
Are you going to be picking up any of these new Warhammer 40,000-related miniatures when they come out?

Brilliant looking new figures the breacher naval crew members are a fab edition to imperial force’s. And of course the Kroots are back.
Those are nice but as expected we are getting Angron as third Daemon Primarch instead of getting second loyalist primarch like Lion who is supposed to be already awake.
You know how it is – sometimes after a relaxing nap you just can’t help pressing the snooze button again, and again, and again….
“More is more!” Yep, GW has pretty good stuff that tickles the eyeballs
And the new White Dwarf (#478) has a heap of terrain rules for using all of the 40K GW terrain sets, in essence what were the Killzone boxes from Kill Team (2018).
So it does look more likely that the whole of the next year, at least, of Kill Team is going to be set on space hulks, perhaps this one space hulk. If so then that is going to be quite a bit of new terrain that GW will be pumping out in the other 3 boxes to be released before August 2023.
About time!
I do like Necromunda minis… but the vehicles are expensive.
Tempted by the new Kill Team box though. Depends on the price and what else in there, but unusual for me to like both factions in a GW starter box.
Loving the old style Space Fleet Navy Breachers.
I am getting a definite Cylon vibe from those breachers…
Only Orks could make those things turn corners by believing they can do so.
Everyone else has to crash into things in order to turn 😉
Seriously GW … I know it is SciFi/Fiction/Fantasy … but a little thought into how physics may make things move would help with the design.
Oh … and while you’re at it … please give us more dynamic looking characters for this skirmish game. It’s not a friggin’ parade nor are tactical rocks a thing in a spaceship.
Don’t you take yozr tactical rock with you were ever you go? So you have one on you in case you ever end up in a rockless area?
But GW and realism is an old topic, if I’m not mistaken the Terminator Chaos Lord has the option for a combimelta but the chainblade underneath is so close it would just melt if the melta was used.
And a lot of 40K vehilces aren’t designed with real world driving physiscs in mind.
it may be old, but that doesn’t mean I can’t complain about it 😉
I still think that it would help if they didn’t have ‘old’ versions of the same thing that didn’t have that problem.
Never said you can’t I just think their stuff will never work under realistic physics no matter how much people complain.
Anyone know what the weapon(s) on the be-tired version of the bike/snowmobile would be? Also, is the flooring in that one diorama shot with the Krieg and the Pathfinders part of the new terrain?
I think that flooring may be from the old Zona Mortalis or old Necromunda kits.
