Doctors And Daleks from Cubicle 7, the 5th Edition take on the Doctor Who Roleplaying Game, is coming soon with the Player's Guide available from 19th July!
Doctors And Daleks - Player's Guide // Cubicle 7
See what's inside the new Player's Guide that will give you a new "in" when travelling through time and adventure with The Doctor.
- Streamlined character creation rules to quickly bring to life a new time-travelling adventurer. Create a new Companion for the Doctor, or build your own Time Lord! Do you want to do a bit of time tourism as part of Team TARDIS, or will you create a group of Time Agents to fight back against pesky paradoxes?
- Rules for playing fast-paced, combat-light sci-fi adventures using the world’s most popular roleplaying game system. Fight like the Doctor with non-lethal weapons, manoeuvres, gadgets, and the power of emotional and logical arguments — or just run away really fast!
- A time traveller’s treasure trove of technological marvels, including sonic screwdrivers, psychic paper, a water gun, and time machines.
- Rules for using and customising the TARDIS, as well as creating and piloting any other kind of time travel device you can think of from the dawn of history to the very ends of the universe.
- Advice on making every Doctors and Daleks adventure feel like you’re living in an episode of the legendary Doctor Who TV Series.
- A comprehensive look at the history of the Doctor’s Universe, detailing some of the aliens and creatures the Doctor has encountered across space and time, including profiles for Daleks, Cybermen, and Weeping Angels, ready to be played!
One of the nice things about this 5th Edition take on Doctor Who is that they have done some interesting work to enhance the non-combative nature of the Doctor's adventures. There are plenty of familiar elements worked into the rules for those who have played 5th Edition games before but with twists here and there for making interesting and diverse characters.
An emphasis on quipping and talking your way through problems is front and centre here. After all, The Doctor doesn't like violence! This isn't just a basic reskin of the 5th Edition rules. They've done a neat job of playing around with the mechanics so you now have a good way to get people moved over from traditional D&D to the world of Doctor Who.
Alien Archive Coming Soon
As well as the Player's Guide, there is also a comprehensive and in-depth book following soon after looking at the aliens of the Doctor Who universe. There are a lot.
Doctors And Daleks - Alien Archive // Cubicle 7
Inside the Alien Archive, you'll find...
- Over 60 monsters and aliens that are fully compatible with Doctors and Daleks, and Dungeons & Dragons 5e.
- A TARDIS full of Gamemaster resources for all of the weird and wonderful aliens the Doctor has encountered, including - Background on the species’ place in history; the common motives and agendas of the aliens to aid in creating and running your own adventures featuring them; guidance on what it's like for a time traveller to might such bizarre creatures; a host of adventure hooks to inspire your adventures across space and time; expanded weaknesses for creatures to defeat them non-violently.
- More gadgets for aliens to use and players to turn against them!
- Multiple variations for the Doctor’s most iconic enemies, from Dalek Drones to Davros and every mark imaginable of Cyberman.
Now you'll have no excuse not to dive in and have your players come up against all manner of interesting foes. I can't wait to see what creatures they have brought to life from Doctor Who past and present.
In addition to these two main books, there are also some adventures to dive into with The Keys Of Scaravore. This is an adventure for characters running from level one through to level five. You'll be travelling to the Wild West and distant words, running into Draconians, Silurians, Zygons and then facing off against the terrifying Scaravore!

May be a good book for reference purposes.
Rules are pretty good as well imo – but yeah, it is a great repository of knowledge for a Whovian.
I do find a little worrying that everyone is doing a D&D 5e version of their game.
It’s only a matter of time before it becomes 6e… 7e… 8e…
I’d argue that D&D is to RPG’s what 40k is to (sci fi) wargames … It’s the 5000 pound gorilla that everyone wants to get a piece of. The trend of using D&D rules for ‘everything’ isn’t exactly ‘new’. Heck … OSR is practically based on cloning D&D and using it for a variety of settings. I’m more worried about the fact that as a system D&D isn’t suited to a lot of things. Doctor Who being one such thing. There’s no point in ‘levelling up’ and the Doctor might as well be a level 50 character with a bunch… Read more »
