For those who were keen on getting their hands on a new Call of Cthulhu starter set, for their chance to explore the gritty and brutal environment inhabited by cultish spawn, given the festivities of the game's 40th Anniversary. Chaosium has now released its special edition starter set. Bringing a fresh starter set with new artwork and updates to Cthulhu-loaded contents.

Early in the year, Chaosium announced that they will be celebrating all things dark and tentacle-y in the summer with the Call of Cthulhu 40th Anniversary Starter Set. Celebrating the game's savage environment of investigating the grim and understanding of the mythos. Highly influenced and inspired by H.P Lovecraft's Eldritch Tales and terrors, players now have a completely updated entry point into 7th Edition.

The new Call of Cthulhu Starter Set gives players an introduction and entry point in how to get started. The box includes new artwork across the interior and exterior of the book, updates and corrections to the errata, and some special edition 40th anniversary Investigator Sheets. All bound in a terrifying box designed by Lin Hsiang.
As this is a starter set choc a bloc full of adventures to get you started in the world, there is a solo scenario available too. This teaches the basic rules and character creation by playing the game! Introducing the basics to you and your character in the starter scenario, "Alone Against The Flames".

The set was released last week on the 27th June, and you can pick up your copy on the Chaosium store for £20.46, PDF included too - so you can bolster up your digital library for quicker reference. There's plenty of content to dive into once you have finished your taster adventures, many a horror to unfold and much-unexpected death.
