Butt Hinges
The first job after putting the cutlery out of sight and therefore all existence was replacing the hinges to get a full 180 degrees for the case to open.Looking on eBay I managed to grab a pair for £1.79 inc postage and got the bonus of giggling at them being called Butt Hinges.

After removing a bit of fabric that covered over the interior join, I realised the old hinges were attached with folded over teeth. Time to safely remove the old hinges.
One screwdriver to the finger later, I fetched some work gloves. 
One side done, just three more to go

I didn't order the right size but honestly, I was thinking so much about whether you would hinge a butt along the x or the y axis that I don't care.
Hinges fitted and scale testing. A 40x40mm base of dwarves takes on a 28mm Frostgrave chronomancer.
