New Astra Militarum Miniatures Sighted For Warhammer 40,000
June 7, 2022 by brennon
Games Workshop has been showing off some of the upcoming Astra Militarum (Imperial Guard) for the grimdark future of Warhammer 40,000. A few sneaky peeks popped up starting with one of the Creed family continuing the legacy.
Ursula Creed // Warhammer 40,000

Ursula Creed is stepping into her father's shoes (and wearing his rather badass coat) as the Lord Castellan Of Cadia. Whilst Cadia might have been turned into an atomised mess, the soldiers of Cadia fight on regardless and are led by some of the toughest commanders out there.
Ursula Creed Details // Warhammer 40,000
Whilst Ursula taking up the position might somewhat highlight the nepotism rampant within the politics of the grimdark future, she has earned her way to the top according to Games Workshop. She is ruthless, tactical and unflinching in the face of the Chaos threat.
New Astra Militarum Kasrkins
As well as the new leader in the form of Ursula, we also got a peek at the brand new plastic kit for the Kasrkins of the Astra Militarum.
Kasrkin // Warhammer 40,000
Not unlike the Tempestus Scions of the Astra Militarum, the Kasrkins are elite soldiers armed with hotshot las-guns and wearing hefty carapace armour. For someone who has been teetering on the edge of going all-in on the idea of an Inquisitorial army for Warhammer 40,000, this isn't helping.
It's fun to see these miniatures coming back to give the Imperial Guard a new lease of life. Are you still a fan of the massed infantry and rolling tanks of the Astra Militarum?
Souped Up Sentinels
As well as the infantry, we also got a look at a brand new Sentinel kit which allows you to bring these clanking walkers back to the tabletop.
Sentinel // Warhammer 40,000
The new miniature kit can be built as the Armoured Sentinel or the Scout Sentinel depending on what role you want your Sentinel to fulfil. As you might have guessed, these Sentinels can be armed with all manner of heavy weapons that allow them to hunt down tanks, monstrous beasts and infantry.
I reckon this is a decent look at what's coming for the Astra Militarum but it would be good to get a look at everything sooner rather than later!
Are you liking the updated look?

Great new models the heavy armed walker especially. Creed looks better without the helmet.
Those look really nice. Maybe it’s just me but that Sentinel does look a lot like AT-ST to me. More so than old version.
I was thinking it looks more like an AT-ST and perhaps that is not a bad thing. Actually they might scale well with the legion figures I have 🙂
Always a nervous moment for me, the new Guard models. It’s the only line in which I don’t hate any of the kits (ok the Taurox but that can be fixed/ignored).
Still happy, I really like these.
Im not sold on these, i prefer the current edition models, these look too close to modern combat troops for me which breaks the immersion. Glad to see guard getting some attention but i’ll be picking up some current stuff before i find its gone oop.
given that the kasrkin are literally just 4th ed/Eye of Terror kasrkin but in plastic, ok.
They’re similar but not the same, they’ve changed the helmet and they look taller, small things but enough to have me stick to the current ones.
I like the Kasrkins. I always found the metal ones some of the best sculpts in the 40k universe, but never had a chance to pick them up. I’ll get a box and replace my Scion Kill Team.
