Really useful size comparison shots. I grabbed a few AA Formorians to use as hobgoblins for Silver Bayonet, and really enjoyed painting them up. I particularly liked the size increase as they got stronger, with champions being notably bigger than the standard troops.
I love the AA range and am in the middle of getting some undercoat on those Fomorians. Much as I love the Warlord ones I like the idea of my Fomorians having a range of different sizes, like we see in the story art. I’ve got Silver Bayonet but haven’t looked at it much yet. Nice to know these will be useful there too, thanks 🙂
Thanks for the comparison shots. I’m surprised how tall the Confrontation models are, they fit really well.
Absolutely. They scale really well and fit much better into this project than the Dogs of War WFB army I was saving them for. TBH I’m happy with how all of them match up – I’m not fussed about small differences in relative size in Fantasy games, there are so many ways of explaining them away.
Lovely how the Celtos minis fit that style of Slaine
They were definitely designed to be “Slaine adjacent”, as were a couple of the ranges or miniatures I’ve featured. Slaine was pretty popular in the eighties and nineties when there wasn’t much other visual fantasy stuff around so the design aesthetic was very influential.
