If you caught the Age of Sigmar news during Warhammer Fest, you will be delighted to hear that there is a new battle box coming amongst the teases of Skaven and Sylvaneth. Two factions take centre stage to prepare a grudge match for two players in the upcoming Echoes of Doom set.

The Skaven have quite the swarm approaching, there is a horde rat-fiend models approaching. Players will find several Stormvermin, Clanrats, an intimidating Grey Seer on Screaming bell and a new model that is the Deathmaster, knived-up to the nines as an assassin familiar with the shadows.

The Sylvaneth are fortifying from the forest, with a beast of a unit gearing up for battle. The Lady of the Vines props up the release as leader option resurrecting for the upcoming war, alongside the Kurnoth Hunters, one mighty Treelord and five new Gossamid Archers, bringing aetherial force at a brute speed.

Warhammer Community has noted that players will be able to get these minis out of the box and straight into a devastating battle between the devious Skaven and the unforgiving Sylvaneth, which could be a great entry point as a two-player starter set. Alongside the miniatures, players will find gubbins, rules, warscroll cards and a fresh new narrative supplement which will describe the leadup and lore to the Echoes of Doom Box.
Or if you do just want to swell your ranks, the upcoming battlebox is also the way to go with the number of minis you get inside.
Quite the contrast in opponents, and a really impressive set of models making their way to the table. There is no defined date set down for the release, only that we can expect it "soon".
Are you tempted by the Echoes of Doom box?

Those are really nice.
I do like the fairy elves.
It is a really interesting yet very odd box. Sylvaneth have a ton of new models people will be exicted to get the hands on. The other side you have Skaven which has one new model and a load of really old models Skaven players will have tons of that i doubt anyone is interested in. We are going to see a lot of Sylvaneth players putting the rats on e-bay if you want to start a rat army your could find a very cheap way to do so. It comes to my point that they should have thrown Skaven… Read more »
I take your point, though they could be hoping for Skaven players to be always wanting more cannon fodder for their armies. Plus getting a Screaming Bell is a nice boon in a ‘starter’ force, too, so maybe they are hoping for that as well.
The ‘start collecting’ set for the skaven has the plague furnace/screaming bell already … so I think any beginning skaven player is likely to have that thing already
I suspect it will be 125-ish because they simply use the old skaven sets as a base with a bunch of silly wood elves from what could be their new starter set.
@redscope is right … there is nothing for either new or old skaven players that screams ‘buy me’ in that set and I think the skaven (like any olde world faction) could do with a refresh of their core troops.
I like the new winged archers and the Deathmaster. So…is the Screaming Bell going to be sneaking through the trees? Seems an odd choice.
