The Horus Heresy Boxed Set Teased & More Info On Warhammer Fest!
April 28, 2022 by fcostin
Have you been one of the many who have been bursting with excitement over the upcoming Horus Heresy boxed set? The Warhammer Community Twitter was poppin' last night, releasing a new preview of the beaky boys facing off against the heretics on the table providing a good look at what to expect.

There wasn't too much information shared over on Twitter - there couldn't be with the character count anyway! However, alongside the new image, we finally gain some confirmation that this indeed is what to expect from the Horus Heresy boxed set upcoming.
"Yes! That's the new boxed set for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. It includes a whopping 40 Mark VI Space Marines, a plastic Spartan, and more. We'll have a closer look at the Contemptor Dreadnought tomorrow and even more at Warhammer Fest"
Although we haven't got any closer to finding out an exact date, we are closer to finding a date that will provide us with a date (hopefully? maybe?)! Classic Games Workshop huh? So, if you are keen on getting substantial information on the upcoming Horus Heresy boxed set, you will have to tune in to Warhammer Fest between the 4th and 7th of May, specifically the final day.
Warhammer Fest 2022 // Warhammer Community
It's not just Horus Heresy that you'll be finding out about at the online conversion, gamers will have four days in a row to be in the front seat of announcements. Including the obvious 40k and Age of Sigmar for the first two days, and then into spin-off titles such as Necromunda, War Cry, and Kill Team.
The biggest gripe I have heard via rumours is the potential for this boxed set to be priced alarmingly high. Considering we now get a confirmed insight into what's in the box, are you keen on getting stuck in, but do you think the price point might put you off? But, that's just a rumour, we'll have to see!
Are you any further tempted by Horus Heresy, and will you be logging into Warhammer Fest?

We are I would guess looking at £200+ here. Tank (would normally be around 50? Dreadnought about 30? and then 40 marines probably around 60?) that’s before you factor in hard back book, templates, dice etc.
Looking at that £200 might be a bargain!
Yes but no but yes but no but no but yes but no but yes but no but no but yes but no but yes but no but yes but no but yes but no but yes but no but yes but no but yes but no but yes but no but
I have so many un painted figures an a project barely started to get done.
Assuming you are one who as a rule purchases a ton of natural products, vegetables, and other new things for your home, then you know how significant it very well may be for your neighborhood supermarkets to keep up with their newness, yet additionally their tidiness. This incorporates getting a wide range of how to Bug Out Bags and pesticides far from the food sources that you will be bringing back to your loved ones. To avoid these spoilers, do a few exploration and track down the best discretionary market in your overall area.
It’s the best part of £350 (at least) for equivalent kits from the 40k range, so if it’s sub-£200 I’ll be amazed. Worht remembering as well that when it comes to the Horus Heresy GW have form as the Adeptus Titanicus Grandmaster Edition they launched the game with was £250….
The price point is going to be the deciding factor for me. You get a lot here but anything £200 plus rules me out.
Given the contents that’s extremely unlikely. Heck, if the rumoured price of £240 is accurate, that’s still good value for the number of miniatures in the box.
What will add value, of course is the peripheral components.
For those wondering the rumour is the box will be 240. Yes it is a lot but you get 40 space marines, 10 terminators, land raider and the Contemptor Dreadnought. Which is you buy seperate is pretty decent saving however it is still 240 notes to splash out. I think a lot of people who dont play HH might be put off but those playing HH now are paying forge world prices for models so this is cheap compared. I think it will be popular release even if people moan about the price because you do get a fair bit… Read more »
Nice boxed set but for confirmed price no thanks.
Price is (apparently) £240.
Oowah a proper plastic Contemptor. I’m probably late to the party spotting this but oowah.
I’ll probably buy it to add to my already large IW legion. But i’m currently upscaling HH epic files to about 10mm and going to play HH that way from now on. You can find every model FW makes in epic scale. so it’s cheaper, quicker to paint and more accessible.
Will you be using Epic rules or some other sci system meant for 6mm scale, or will you be using 7th edition and scaling down the measurements? I have seen people use 6mm to play HH with the Apocalypse rules on Youtube.
I’m just going to convert every measurement from inches to cm and leave it at that. I like the 7.5 edition rules for HH so no need for me to change them. That should work perfectly fine I would imagine.
If you are interested, there is also Imperius Dominatus – it is Epic for HH. The rules and resources are free. They come from the guys that wrote Netepic. The site is below.

Ah yes I do believe I follow their Facebook page. There’s also a Facebook group called Rules for infantry, vehicles and aircraft in adeptus titanicus. (Very catchy name I know)
But I think I’ll definitely aim to try and play it in a scaled down version of the normal 30k rules
So when do they show up on the GW online store?
Because I’ve been checking it for weeks and the only HH stuff I find is on FW.
According to the Warhammer Community site, it will be available in early June.
Thanks.
40 guys, 1 dreadnought, 1 tank, all plastic, rules n stuff – I’ll buy it for $ 100.
Any more than that and they can Age their Sigmar.
I’ve never really looked into the Heresy game so to me that starter set looks massive; I tend to prefer smaller games of at the very most 30ish marines so these forces look more like a starter set for Epic.
I certainly couldn’t face painting that many marines but I am interested in the beakies (the only true space marine for me) so I may pick some up for 2nd & 3rd Ed games, I just hope they do some assault, special and heavy weapon options in plastic.
I assume they’ll do the £65 and £35 starter boxes too?
