What tips and tactics would you offer our Stargrave captains?
I do really like the idea of getting my friends to play a campaign game like this.
Hope I can get some play on this
Is the campaign designed to be head-to-head between two players throughout? If so, do you think there’s an increasing risk of imbalance between the two crews as the campaign progresses?
You can play with any number. But even if one person storms in front only your captain and first mate increase in xp so it stays very balanced
I’ve got a group of friends that are interested in this game… All I need is the game and some minis. 🙂
Take them to the next level… or into the pit XD
I believe in the rulebook there are warbots which are large robots. How tall is a Bot War bot compared to a 28mm figure?
yes
small bots are about 40mm so not too much bigger than humans
Thanks
One box already seems to be enough to create two crews…sounds like a good deal to me.
I have a potential opponent now, but I have really enjoyed the solo elements of Quarantine 37. Are there any solo bits in The Last Prospector?
Nope this is a head to head from the get go. Hard to turn it into a solo unless you build and maintain a second crew to play against
Done. ? The Solubrians will fight the wonder priests and Daktari conglomerate through this one. ?
TO the Moon!!!!! also they should fight to see who gets to watch the Greatest movie ever made.
I like this post-campaign retrospective video. It would be nice to see more often to accompany batreps.
Really enjoyed Stargrave week I still have not finished the last book yet but now excited by looking at playing this one at some point in the future.
I love the idea of Crews building up over time in linked campaigns and taking them from one set of games to another
I think it may be better to pick a couple active spam powers but more out of game powers because you get to attempt each of those every game but you may not want to take the time in game to use more than a couple powers.
I like options in game, but out of game spam makes sense especially for Shay’s build where he just really needs the psychic flame in game 🙂
After seeing the play through I’m going to start running through the Frost/Stargrave campaigns with my daughter. Adds a nice extra level of narrative to the game.
definitely, there are some terrific published campaigns but it is so simple to write your own as well to reflect your collection of minis and terrain
These rules seem nice.
Good stuff. And a nice departure from “just beat the snot out of each other and grab the swag”.
How did you guys feel the new powers and crew types felt?
great fun videos guy’s.
With the Powers, I found the same thing in Frostgrave: you pick what sounds cool and useful because you have to, but end up only using 1 or 2 all the time
I really dig that Crew II kit. North Star’s done good with their mutli-part customize-o-rama boxes.
As for tips and tricks for Stargrave? My tried-and-true strategy for all games is really simple: cuss and blame the dice.
I want to take more dogs … why do I now imagine a John Wick 3 crew setup? John as Captain, Sofia as First Mate, and the rest of the crew is all dogs!
Really enjoyed these playthroughs – looking forward to getting my hands on the new campaign book!
Surely dog deserves a name now after the MVP performance in the last mission? If he gets croaked in a future mission you can always follow the Lisa Simpson cat naming convention and call it dog II etc.
Got to put together two crews, for the day someone comes over to play this with me
Enjoying SG atm. Think I’ll pick this expansion up.
