Pick Up New Indian Mutiny Civilians From Empress Miniatures

The Indian Mutiny range has been the focus of Empress Miniatures over the last little while. A new selection of Civilian miniatures has been added to the collection, sculpted by Paul Hicks in 28mm scale.

There are two sets of Male Victorian Civilians alongside one set of Female Victorian Civilians. This gives you a set of gentlemen, adventurers and perhaps even retired soldiers that have found themselves in the midst of a clash on the streets of a city.

I think this is a great set of miniatures because it offers up the chance to drop in a selection of characters that could be the focal point of your scenarios. Rather than clashes between nameless soldiers, you could instead focus on civilians who are having to fight their way out of a sticky situation. It could be a nice break from regular battling.
I do like that the Female Victorian Civilians look just as adept at defending themselves as the gentlemen!

Again, a great set of miniatures that open up ideas for scenarios and narratively themed wargames. Everyone loves a good rescue scenario where you're fighting against the clock. Maybe you could play a game where all of your "warband" are civilians looking to escape from a town being burned to the ground?
These miniatures are designed for the Indian Mutiny period but they could also be used for the First Maori War and the American Civil War.
Last, but not least, we also got a set of Indian Women. Another great way to add some life and character to your wargaming collection.

Soldiers are important but it's always good to look at ways that you can make your gaming tables fit the period. Adding notable civilians and appropriate terrain is the way to go, especially if you're aiming to make the location feel lived in.
I would heartily recommend picking these up; if only to provide you with something different to paint when diving into this period.
What kind of scenarios would you create using these?
