Warlord Games has released a new bunch of vehicles for use with the German war effort in Bolt Action. These 28mm kits will add to your World War II games and offer up the potential for some scenarios where you're seeking to aid forlorn soldiers.

The first of these is the Ambulance. These are always useful when you're heading onto the battlefield. These vehicles were so robust that they were used across pretty much every theatre of war. You would find them churning up the mud in Europe, braving the heat in Africa and shuttling the wounded away on the Eastern front.

The basis of this vehicle also meant that it could fulfil a variety of other battlefield roles. For example, it could be used for fuel transport.

Now you have something that you can blow up as the Allies! Set a couple of these up in a fuel depot and have your soldiers raid it. Maybe this could actually be part of a larger motorcade? You could have the German soldiers watching over it as it passes through a ruined urban landscape, watching for ambushes.

So we've had a medical truck, a fuel truck and now we've got a radio kit mounted into the back of another one.

Keeping up communication is key in battle and so watching over one of these seems like a good battlefield objective. You can build this vehicle with a deployed and retracted radar antennae depending on your desire too.

New Bolt Action Sd.Kfz 250 Half-Track Options

As well as the support vehicles, we also have a new Half-Track set from Warlord Games for the Germans. Here is the Sd.Kfz 250 (Alte) Half-Track.

This set comes with options for building three variants of this Half-Track. Here is how it breaks down...

• Sd.Kfz 250/1 - the standard version of this armoured half-track.
• Sd.Kfz 250/9 - fully enclosed reconnaissance variant with a turret mounting a 2cm automatic cannon.
• Sd.kfz 250/11 - platoon commander's half-track with the forward machine gun replaced by a 2.8cm Panzerbüchse 41 squeezebore anti-tank rifle with a co-axial machine gun.

The primary use for this particular vehicle was for scouting and recon. It could be armed with some serious weaponry and the six-man crew could be deployed to give covering fire in a pinch as well. They were very handy for watching ahead but also above as guns could be used to take a potshot at aircraft if required.

You can buy yourself just one of these sets or you can look to get your hands on a special pre-order bundle that offers up three kits, allowing you to make each of the options the kit allows. You could also make three of the same if you really wanted to.

It's nice to have more stuff pop up for direct conflict on the tabletop whilst also having options for playing out interesting scenarios.
