Kickstarter seems to be the place to go to launch tabletop titles nowadays! We tend to get teases from publishers about an upcoming campaign - however, the main launch always seems to appear on Kickstarter, and I find myself waiting in the wings of upcoming projects to scope out excitement for the upcoming board games this month.

One particular title that has really caught my eye this month, is launching next week in fact on April 5th. Gamestormers from GamestormEDU is set to be launching soon on Kickstarter, placing players in the role of the creator of their own game.

It's always wonderful when a game pulls together creativity with strategy, as Gamestormers puts 3-6 players into a challenge of an up-and-coming game designer (A.K.A Gamestormer) in hopes of impressing the Elder with the amazing concept. Centring cards as the main mechanic, the tableau-building card game will work at filling out their tableaus with game-building cards to bring together a fluid concept.

Players will undergo several actions as characters who are designing the story: such as taking items from the marketplace which implement the use of Storyline and Mechanic cards. Players will strip back a game to the fundamentals to reap victory points from acquiring cards to add to the overarching concept - and getting them to make sense!

There can only be one winner - but there are two different ways to prove victorious in the land of Fjerogard. Whether you play the game to meet objectives to rack in victory points - or soak in the most votes from players around the table.

Considering the card previews have a mix of both fantasy and sci-fi - I am sure there will be many different creations to allow players to draw together a full cohesive game. Gamestormers is set to launch on April 5th, bringing a further update to gameplay when the Kickstarter campaign is live. But if you want a cheeky reminder, be sure to put in your email to get a notification from their project page here.

What do you think of the concept that designing a game is part of the game?
