Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory Starter Set // Cubicle 7

Inside this set, you'll find a fantastic collection of material that is very handy for those getting started with Wrath & Glory. At the core of the set is Traitor's Hymn, a fourty-eight-page adventure that is set aboard the Varonius Flotilla. A ship is stranded in Gilead alongside many others and you'll need to work out what machinations are going on behind the scenes. It has been designed to teach you how to play as you game so it should be easy to dive in with no prep!

The second of the books focuses on The Varonius Flotilla and is a great guide to the different ships and crew that make up this fleet. You'll also find more information on a variety of NPCs, the Rogue Trader Captain, Jakel Varonius and more. This is where these sets from Cubicle 7 always tick the boxes for me. Loads of additional plot hooks and one-page adventures offer up nice ways to step beyond the bounds of the initial story set out in the box.

The set will also come with five pre-generated characters so you can start playing quickly, each with their own goals, backgrounds and connections. I have been using a slightly modified version of one of the Starter Set characters from Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play in my campaigns and it was a great jumping-off point.

You'll then find everything that you need to complete the experience. A set of rules reference sheets and summary pages, tokens for tracking Wrath, Glory and Ruin and eight six-sided dice with one of them being a unique Wrath Die.

The screen itself shows off the Adepta Sororitas clashing with the Necrons alongside stained glass icons of a sacred order. The interior of the screen then contains a selection of helpful rules, reminders and guides for keeping gameplay flowing.

You will also get the Gamemaster's Guide that features advice on running your games plus new rules for NPCs and Adventures that you can use in your adventures. There are six detailed NPCs in the set with their own plot hooks and agendas and eight new adventures (covering Tiers 1 through to 4) that should help you get started.

I'm a sucker for picking up a Starter Set. I also really like what Cubicle 7 has been doing with theirs over the years. Both the Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play and Warhammer Age Of Sigmar Soulbound sets have been great fun to dive into and I could see these being the same.
