Games Workshop didn't offer up much of an update for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar this time around but we did get a look at some new miniatures and terrain. We start with a new Nighthaunts character who is going to be ferrying the dead across The Mortal Realms.

This fellow was a bit of a murderer in life. He ended up drowning those that he promised to ferry across the river. So, when he died, Nagash decided to keep him in the life that he was accustomed to, ferrying the dead from the plane of the living to Nagash's undying lands.

The miniature is pretty cool I have to say. I love all the little focal points that draw the eye. The roses and thorns, a typical design for the Nighthaunts. The chains that bind him forever to his rotten craft. The pay chest in the back of the boat where souls are seeking to buy their way into Nagash's favour. It's a fun model all around.

Thondian Strongpoint Terrain

As well as the new model for the Nighthaunts, we also got a peek at some new terrain that's coming for the latest "Season" for Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. Defend Thondia with this new set of terrain.

Thondian Strongpoint

This is a complete terrain set for making a themed board set within the Realm Of Ghur. It comes with the half-built abodes of those trying to forge a life in this blasted realm alongside remnants of those that once dwelt there.

I quite like the big skeleton. I think that would add a sense of character and scale to any board. You could also use it for something like Adeptus Titanicus to represent some titanic beast that has been felled during the age of The Horus Heresy. Remember to remove the skeletons underneath it though if you do that!

I'm not sure it will be everyone's cup of tea, but it's nice that there is some more themed terrain to suit the current setting. It should be noted that there is also this strange creation...

Krondspine

Krondspine // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar

The Krondspine is a manifestation of power and wrath within the Realm Of Beasts. It is an entity that can be lashed to the will of another hero in your arm (whatever your allegiance) and it is able to spread wreck and ruin on the tabletop. But, if that hero dies then the unbound creation could cause all manner of unintended harm.

The rules for this particular entity and for games in Thondia are going to be found in a new Seasons Of War book. It opens up new themed possibilities for playing games in Ghur, be it narrative, open or in matched play. There will also be updated options in there for Path To Glory. It will be interesting to see how essential this is for those playing out tournaments and such.

Are you tempted by these new Warhammer Age Of Sigmar creations?
