Unboxing: The Joker, Ras Al’Ghul, Bane & Batman
December 3, 2014 by elromanozo
In this video Romain and John (in his best Bane voice) look at a few miniatures from the Batman Miniatures Game inspired by Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.
More specifically they're looking at the Joker, Ra's Al Ghul, Bane & Batman from Knight Models.
We think this range is shaping up to be very cool.
What do you guys think of these?

Nice job on the presentation the both of you. Played nicely off each other. Can’t wait to see the how these are painted.
These models look very good. I don’t know what the game is like, but I might just want to paint these as display pieces.
How about a 3 Colors Up painting battle? Have Romain paint The Joker, including the freehand on the coat. And let John have a go at Bane. There are enough rough metal parts on there to make it feel familiar.
Great looking sculpts, I would love to see Romain do a tutorial on painting black clothing and how to highlight it.
Done ! 🙂
great models love to see you guys paint these up and have to agree presentation light hearted and fun to watch
It’s a wonder John wasn’t yearning for a Tumbler model to unbox…
Very nice sculpts!
Very enjoyable video to watch, thanks guys.
Models look great. I really enjoyed the unboxing. Looking forward to your next.
Good show guys – I am almost convince to give it a go – cant wait to see rules – but I will probably buy some thing just for pure pleasure of painting.
Actually guys, I stand corrected : it’s indeed pronounced Raysh Al’Ghul in arabic, and it means “head of the ghoul”, a star in the arabic equivalent of the Perseus constellation.
You live and learn…
Actually @elromanozo, the correct Arabic pronunciation would be Ra’s al Ghul. The little ‘ in the middle of the first word being a glottal stop (like the ‘t’ sound in ‘water’ when said in a stereotypical cockney accent when you don’t pronounce the ‘t’). Although in day to day use, I think a lot of Arabs wouldn’t bother to pronounce it, so it would sound just like ‘ras’. The ‘gh’ sound is a bit like the rolling French ‘r’ – we don’t really have anything like it in English. I don’t know anything about the Batman comics, but I can… Read more »
Well, since I heard both versions from the Internet, I bet it’s pronounced completely differently… lol.
The star you’re thinking of is Algol, an eclipsing binary in Perseus, as the head of the Gorgon in the constellation, it has probably the worst reputation of ill omen of all stars.
It changes in brightness every 2.85 days, that was confirmed in the 17th century, but Egyptian astrological charts show a cyclical changing of fortune/misfortune on a 2,85 day cycle, so they may have discovered this long before and it’s poor reputation may be that old as well.
It’s amazing where playing Elite: Dangerous leads you…
Lovely minis. Romain and John, awesome co-presenters, really work well together.
Actually Knight Models is not that new in 30-35mm. They had a range of Star Wars miniatures absolutely gorgeous. But that was only for display, there was no game system attached.
You should also make an unboxing of Deathstroke, Night Owl or some huge miniatures like Solomon Grundy or Killer Croc. The level of detail of this miniatures is amazing (and a bit freightening …).
These look amazing also my arkham city batman is in the post so can wait to get my hands on it. Would love to see some more of the comic and game ones Un boxed. Really looking forward to the tutorials and game demos
Great vid guys, you should work together more often!
I’d like to see Romain paint some of these and especially see how he tackles all that black?
John, I think these look tall and thin to you as you are used to seeing “heroic” miniatures and these are more anatomically correct.
Really want to see a painting series on The Joker and Batman!
Great unboxinv guys, even the Bane impression was passable… 😉
Good unboxing. I’m at beastsofwar because of you two and would love to see you team up for more videos. Thanks for sharing your insights.
Great show guys. very well presented.
Awesome unboxing! The models look fantastic, and it was more entertaining unboxing 😉 keep up the good work!
Took me a while to watch this video but Romain and John definitely need to be allowed to do more unboxings together. It was a really entertaining video 🙂
