Darrell tells us how you can get away from a unit that's chasing you off the board, when you fail your leadership test and have to fall back.

Great tactic, and i thought you had to go towards the nearest board edge. A tactic and cleared something up, thanks!
mind blown. it makes sense in the game and real life. perfect, thanks!!
you mean ? :

very sneaky
I was doing the same thing (not intentionally mind you) but my opponent used his verticals to keep them with in 3 inches of the objective (but that did not last long).
nice, two new tactics learned x)
units running away can’t claim objectives @kervin
Units falling back get removed at the end of the game before working out victory conditions. For the standard missions this means they’ll never “score” an objective. Some of the Battle Missions (and others) score objectives each turn – and there’s nothing stopping a falling back unit from claiming one of those.
I didn’t know that is possible to happening in the game. Nice tactic !!!!
Thanks again…….
A handy tip. It’s always a PITA being escorted off the battlefield, especially with marines who can auto-rally except when there’s an enemy unit nearby.
Doesnt ATSKNF prevent this?
@taisac – no, ATSKNF doesn’t let marines auto-rally if there’s an enemy within 6″.
Thanks for the replay.
I missed it the first go, but this is a great idea.
That’s cool, it never occured to me to run while falling back
Get a vehicle to do the job there’s no escape then!
Tau Gun Drones, especially those 2 deployed from devilfish, cannot be avoided this way:) Other jump/jet infrantry are good as well to walking enemy off the board.
Remember you can use your transports to interrupt their within 6″ of your marines. This is just another way to use a vehicle with no weapon, troops or other obvious advantage left, but not immobilized.
I thought if you had the space marine rule ‘and they shall know no fear’ they auto regroup and ignore being within 6” of an enemy
yup Baranithil had it in one, the counter is to escort with a fast unit, bikes, jetbikes, drones, ‘speeders, most eldar & tau vehicles….
sure they will get shot at but if it is your 600 pt bruser unit i’ll manage to get it off the board.
