Growing a small town is no easy feat. It takes the hard work and graft of all the townspeople, in hopes to turn their homestead into a dream.

Hamlet is now up on Kickstarter from Mighty Boards, journeying to a small village in England that is just simply lacking flair - they have no church or anything! So, it's up to the players to get their hands dirty, pulling in all the help they can get from the villagers with hopes to turn their meagre hamlet into a pinpoint on the map.

Hamlet: The Village Building Game Trailer // Mighty Boards

This medium weight title will have players building the village from the ground up. By connecting a variety of different tiles to form the perfect village, the focus is to finalise the completion of the church to live in prosperity. Players will be in charge of connecting buildings by pathways, and securely placing them in the most efficient place in town, for workers and resources alike.

What blows my mind about this title is the construction of the village. The little tiles are the main design of the village meaning the shape and structure of the village will never play the same, as each tile is individually unique.

The more players erect buildings with effectiveness, the more income that flows into the growing village. These buildings will create a booming economy, where players can translate their resources into finer materials to bring further funding to homestead. And where does this money go? Into more buildings and the growth of the booming village. And most importantly, to go back into the 3D church that is being built throughout gameplay - central to the board.

The title has got 19 days left on the clock and has already been funded 5x more than its initial goal. If you back the title, you will get your hand on a few exclusives which are upgrades to the game, such as painted meeple and goal coins to throw back into your personal village bank. And did I mention, custom Donkeeples to get your resources from A to B on your map?! There's one simple pledge if you are looking at getting involved, for the base game, all stretch goals and exclusives for £47.
