Fireforge Games has been showing off some more of the early work on their Samurai range that is coming to Kickstarter soon. As well as a bunch of multi-part kits, they are also going to be working on characters too.

Oda Nobunaga - Fireforge Games

I would imagine that Oda Nobunaga is going to be one of their resin characters that joins the larger plastic range. It is good to have such a larger than life character in the mix already. I'm sure that we'll see some more notable leaders of the various clans popping up too.

New Fireforge Ashigaru

A lot of the core Ashigaru forces are going to be catered for when it comes to this miniature collection it seems. They are armed with all of the traditional weapons that you'd imagine they would bring to the frontline.

Naginata Ashigaru - Fireforge Games

The Naginata and the Yumi are core to pretty much any Samurai force on the tabletop. These will be part of multi-part kits allowing you to mix, match and customise your army to work with the games that you're playing.

Yumi Ashigaru - Fireforge Games

One of the nice additions to this Ashigaru collection comes in the form of the Teppou. With Nobunaga in the mix, it makes sense that we would see some blackpowder entering the equation!

Teppou Ashigaru - Fireforge Games

Fireforge Games have been showing off a lot more miniatures over on social media. They have certainly been busy and it should mean that the Kickstarter launch comes packed with lots of ideas for backers to get stuck into.

Specialist Warriors

Additionally, there are more specialised warriors in the mix too. For example, here are some bellowing Warrior Monks complete with their Naginata...

I would not want to mess with them on the battlefield. I particularly like the fellows with the scarves and makes pulled up around their heads. This certainly points towards a bunch of options being included with each kit.

As I mentioned, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are loads of new Samurai, including mounted options, on the way.

Are you going to be checking out this Kickstarter in May?
