Best Time To Start Arkham Horror? The Path To Carcosa Revised!
February 28, 2022 by fcostin
When it comes to living card games, unless you are roped in at the beginning - it's hard to know where to go next or what expansion goes where. Plus, it becomes increasingly harder to find adventure packs and scenarios to add to the growing world. Some expansions can be really expensive on eBay because they are in higher demand, or you just can't seem to get hold of it without ridiculous shipping from another country.
The Path To Carcosa Expansions // Arkham Horror
Been there! Being immersed in a Living Card Game that has been standing the test of time is difficult sometimes! However, Fantasy Flight Games are making their way through Arkham Horror, bringing fresh life to previous expansions with new boxes fitting theme after the Revised Edition and peeling back mechanics with two separate boxes: the Arkham Horror LCG with The Path to Carcosa Investigator Expansion and The Path to Carcosa Campaign Expansion.
Investigator Expansion Previews // The Path to Carcosa
The Path to Carcosa Investigator Expansion comes with six different investigators to add to your campaign all with varied abilities. Whereas if you are more interested in Scooby-Dooing it through quests, to uncover mysteries without extra investigators you can tap into The Path to Carcosa Campaign Expansion.
Campaign Expansion Previews // The Path to Carcosa
New players will be provided with a diverse approach to expansions, with two separate boxes to dip into. Whether you want to quest to your heart's content in the Campaign Expansion or gain some player cards to your deck with the Investigator Expansion.
What's new in the box? Nothing! Other than a fancy new box and design plus a fresh reprint. For new players (and veterans who refuse to pay ridiculous prices for expansions on eBay and such) this is great news, cards that have been hard to find are now back in action. Giving a great starting point for new wanderers and a reason to return for veteran investigators by filling gaps in adventures.
So can we expect tidier shelves with Fantasy Flight products! Arkham Horror, Lord of the Rings LGC and Marvel champions all look perfect next to one another with the new editions... I wonder if expansions for LOTR will be taking the same path.

looks a good if complex game.
