February 25, 2022 by fcostin
Consider yourself a collector? Modiphius has released a very special Dune: Adventures in the Imperium Core Rulebook to their store, with only 15o copies made.
This stunning book is handcrafted and comes leatherbound, built and structured - according to Modiphius - using medieval techniques, and comes housed in a custom-weather antique brass cover-plate, which has been engraved with the worm rider design.

Currently, the limited edition core book is in the pre-order period with the first wave being shipped in April this year and only available from the official Modiphius store, and will come with a certificate of authenticity by the hands that crafted the books - El Artesano Del Rey.

As you can imagine, something so limited edition and handcrafted must come with a pretty price point right? The Limited Edition is currently up on pre-order at Modiphius for £550. Quite the hefty price for a Core Rulebook - and quite honestly one that would stay hidden from daylight if I had in my household.
So if you are a fan of the Dune franchise and you consider yourself a bit of a collector, be sure to visit the Modiphius website to take a gander at the new Limited Edition book - whilst there are some left!

technically I’ve never paid over £100 for a single RPG book. at £550 they can jog the fuck on, I’m sure they’ll sell anyway.
at that sort off price even an Arrakis worm will have difficulty to swallow that.
I think the max was about 120$ but that was about 8-10 years ago…strangely enough it was for the other Dune RPG book….mind you.i paid about 200$ for some school textbooks.
550 ? It does not that special for the price they are asking for. But no I tend to buy older copies second hand or damaged returns I think the most I paid is 35
I absolutely LOVE a good, deluxe, book-as-artifact. If I had the disposable funds, yeah, this would be a guilty pleasure for me. As it is, I already went all in on the initial “collector’s” Dune RPG preorder getting the standard core book and the three deluxe House cover core books. That’s as far as I can go right now. But I do so love my various leather-bound limited edition books on my shelves. This one looks oh so pretty!
This right here is what the gentrification of the hobby looks like.
